Two weeks after the Ohio State 2021 Pro Day, Justin Fields and Shaun Wade participated in a second one.
Fields impressed in his first Pro Day, but not everyone was there to see it. Alabama’s Pro Day fell on the same day, so many NFL coaches, like Kyle Shanahan of the 49ers, went to Tuscaloosa.
Wade, meanwhile, has been recovering from a foot injury, so he wanted to do his performance later.
The two teamed up for a second Pro Day, which was held on Wednesday, April 14th.
Ohio State 2021 Pro Day Number 2 Recap
Shaun Wade
Wade started drawing attention from the NFL after his sophomore season in 2019. But this was his only chance to show off specific drills to the NFL personnel that attended.
NFL agent Michael Perrett reported the results of his Pro Day:
Shaun Wade – Ohio State
Pro Day #’s
40 – 4.43
Vert – 37.5
Broad – 10’ 3”👀 💨
Nice work @shaunwade24!

Wade’s 40-yard dash tied him with Fields for the fastest time among Buckeyes in this draft class. He would have been the seventh-fastest cornerback at the 2020 combine with that time.
His 37.5 vertical is impressive too, only behind Baron Browning and Pete Werner. Even though they are both linebackers, they tested like athletic freaks at the initial Pro Day.
Wade’s broad jump was 10’3″, which is the third highest among his teammates, after Trey Sermon‘s 10’5″ and Browning’s out of this world 10’10”. Before the initial Pro Day, Wade sought donors to pledge money for every inch of his broad jump to Warrick Dunn Charities. His jump raised $1,700 for single-parent and underprivileged families.
Justin Fields’ Take Two
Fields impressed at his first Pro Day in March, and laid icing on the cake with his April performance.
Not only was Shanahan present, but so was Bears head coach Matt Nagy, Broncos offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur, and Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels.
Fields’ most impressive throw from his earlier workout was one where he rolled to the left and threw the ball 65 yards, hitting the receiver in stride. To prove it wasn’t a fluke, he did it again on Wednesday.

If Fields isn’t drafted in the top five this year, it won’t be for a lack of talent. It seems as if Fields has done all he could possibly do to maximize his draft stock.
