We only have two more weeks of the regular season before Championship weekend. And, we’re seeing a huge battle among the top between Mac Jones and Kyle Trask. Could the Heisman come down to the SEC Championship Game? Or, with Clemson back in action, can Trevor Lawrence race back into contention? With that in mind, let’s take a look as we unveil our week 12 2020 Heisman rankings.
This week, we have a couple of guys that don’t get much attention that we’re calling out in our rankings. First, Grayson McCall is having a fantastic freshman season for Coastal Carolina. He has over 2,000 all-purpose yards with 25 total touchdowns and only one interception. Additionally, we have Jaret Patterson is fresh off of a 409 yard, eight touchdown performance on Saturday against Kent State. Having said that, let’s look at the extended leader board in our week 12 2020 Heisman rankings.

Top Five Candidates
1. Mac Jones
QB | Alabama Next Game: 12/5 vs LSU
The Crimson Tide have continued their late-season dominating play with a 42-13 win over Auburn in the Iron Bowl. Jones had one of his best games of the year with five touchdown passes and 302 yards through the air. That was enough for Jones to reclaim his top spot by a slim margin. Alabama will get back on the field in another rivalry game against LSU on Saturday night.

2. Kyle Trask
QB | Florida Next Game: 12/5 at Tennessee
Trask and the Gators sleepwalked through the first half against Kentucky. But, Trask threw two of his three touchdown passes in the third quarter. He ended up with 256 yards for the game against the Wildcats. However, in the back and forth jostling for position Trask is just on the outside looking in as the Gators travel to Rocky Top to face Tennessee this weekend.

3. Trevor Lawrence
QB | Clemson Next Game: 12/5 at Virginia Tech
The Tigers looked like a caged animal getting out for the first time Saturday against Pittsburgh. Lawrence went from the forgotten man to back in striking distance after a 403 yard, two-touchdown performance. The Tigers have about as much to lose in a regular-season game in quite some time. With a win, Lawrence will take his team to another ACC championship game. But, a loss will send Clemson out of the conference and playoff race.

4. Zach Wilson
QB | BYU Next Game: 12/12 vs San Diego State
BYU was not able to put together a game this week so they will have another week off. The Cougars will host San Diego State on December 12th in their final regular-season game of the year. Unfortunately, for Wilson, he’ll be on the sidelines while his competitors are likely playing in high profile games.

|
5. Justin Fields
QB | Ohio State Next Game: 12/5 at Michigan State
The Buckeyes are set to get back on the field this weekend in a game they desperately need to have played. Fields has dropped all the way back to the fifth spot in this week’s rankings. So, for Ohio State’s conference championship and Fields Heisman chances it couldn’t be a bigger game in East Lansing on Saturday.
