Ten former Ohio State players were picked by the wrap up of the 2020 NFL draft on Saturday night. Ohio State was tied for Michigan for the second-most drafted players, with LSU leading the way with 14. Of course, LSU’s top pick was an Urban Meyer recruit to Ohio State.
In typical Ohio State fashion, defensive line and secondary flew off the board pretty quickly. Add one of the Big Ten’s leading rushers in the second round, and some All-conference talent in the third, and you have a successful draft.

Ohio State Wrap Up Of The 2020 NFL Draft
Round 1: Chase Young, Jeffrey Okduah, and Damon Arnette
As expected, Chase Young and Jeffery Okudah went second and third overall, respectively. Young is going back to his home state of Maryland to play for the Redskins in Landover. Okudah will be going to the Detroit Lions.
Damon Arnette went 19th overall to the Raiders, which was a pleasant surprise for Ohio State fans. He was projected to go in the second or third round, so a first round selection was unexpected.
It’s also fun to note that Arnette is the first ever draft pick for the Las Vegas Raiders.
Round 2: J.K Dobbins
Even though J.K. Dobbins was tied for third in rushing yards and first in rushing touchdowns, he was the fifth running back taken in the draft. The Ravens selected Dobbins with the 55th overall pick. Mark Ingram has a potential out in his contract next year, so Dobbins could be a younger and cheaper weapon in that potent offense.
Round 3: Davon Hamilton, Jonah Jackson, and Malik Harrison
Another surprisingly high pick, the Jaguars selected Davon Hamilton 73rd overall. Some analysts had Hamilton going as late as the fifth round. The last Buckeye the Jaguars drafted was also a defensive tackle, Michael Bennett in 2015.
The Lions double-dipped in the Ohio State pool two picks later to grab Jonah Jackson. He will join former Ohio State offensive lineman Taylor Decker in Detroit.
The Ravens also went back to Columbus, and just like the Lions, they flipped sides of the ball. Malik Harrison is the newest addition to John Harbaugh’s squad, helping fill one of the few positions of need the Ravens had in the draft.
Round 6: Jordan Fuller
The Buckeyes had to wait well into Day 3 for the next pick, but it finally came 199th overall. The Rams took Jordan Fuller with their sixth round pick.
Round 7: K.J. Hill and Jashon Cornell
K.J. Hill had to wait longer than he thought he would, but he finally got the call. The Chargers picked Hill #220th overall.
The Lions picked their third Buckeye, going for Jashon Cornell with the 225th pick.
Free Agent signings: Binjimen Victor (NYG), Austin Mack (NYG), Rashod Berry (NE), Brandon Bowen (CAR), and Liam McCullough (LV)
Most Buckeyes were snatched up pretty quickly as free agents. The one remaining undrafted and unsigned Buckeye is Robert Landers. The reason why he is left remains a mystery.
