We’ve made it to the last week of the season with championship weekend upon us. Joe Burrow keeps his strong lead by garnering every first-place vote. Justin Fields continues to also be a clear second in our latest poll. However, championship weekend seems to always pull out some surprised that shakes up the race. With that being said, let’s see where the rest of our contender rank in our championship weekend 2019 Heisman rankings.
Even though, he’s significantly behind it’s important to note the surge that Lynn Bowden Jr. has made in our rankings. With a 270+ yard and four-touchdown performance against Louisville, he is the clear winner this week. Did Chase Young lose some steam? Did Jalen Hurts jump up after his Bedlam performance? We’ll answer all of these questions as we unveil our championship weekend 2019 Heisman rankings.

QB | LSU Next Game: 12/07 vs Georgia
Burrow had another outstanding performance as he has now set conference and school records in his senior season. He may have built a lead that is too much for any of the other contenders to overcome at this point. But, Burrow faces perhaps the best defense in the country as the Tigers try to punch their playoff ticket.

One interception in 277 passing attempts is about as staggering as a statistic than we’ve seen in quite some time. In any other year, he’d be the clear favorite. Be that as it may, Fields has one more barrier to clear as the Buckeyes have a rematch with Wisconsin in the Big Ten Championship Game and perhaps after that, the biggest question would be where the Buckeyes land in the playoff seeding.

Hurts leads the country with 49 touchdowns accounted for and only trails Burrow by percentage points for the quarterback rating lead. However, he finds himself in third place in our rankings. After struggling with turnovers, Hurts had his cleanest game of the season with no turnovers and scored a touchdown throwing, rushing, and receiving. Hurts and the Sooners will go for their fifth straight conference title and perhaps their third straight playoff appearance.

Young is certainly the most impactful player in college football this season individually. He’s been a terror in opponents backfields all year with his 16.5 sacks on the season. With that being said, he was ineffective against Michigan with no sacks or no real measurable statistics. Young will need to have a huge game against Wisconsin in the Big Ten Championship Game.

RB | Wisconsin Next Game: 12/07 vs Ohio State
Taylor was pivotal as the Badgers came back to soundly defeat Minnesota in the snow to get a rematch with the Buckeyes. He scored three touchdowns and ran for 76 yards in the win. He’ll look to bounce back from one of the worst games in his career as he was held to only 52 yards in Ohio State’s 38-7 victory in October.
