Oklahoma Signs Tight End Austin Stogner

The early signing period is off to a quick start in the second year of its inception. Lincoln Riley has the Oklahoma Sooners as a consensus top 10 recruiting class for 2018. The Sooners kickstarted that in a big way as Oklahoma Signs Tight End Austin Stogner. Stay tuned to Last Word on College Football as we provide the latest in recruiting commitments and news.

Important to realize, Stogner is the number three ranked tight end in the country. He is also a four-star recruit and the number 72nd ranked overall recruit according to 247 sports.

Oklahoma signs Austin Stogner

Stogner played in Plano, Texas this season at Prestonwood Christian Academy. Now, Oklahoma has Grant Calcaterra firmly entrenched as the starting tight end for the Sooners.

Now, Stogner verbally committed to the Sooners in June of 2017.

Another key point, even though Calcaterra is the starter, Stogner will have every opportunity to battle for a starting spot or get significant playing time in 2019. Now, with the way Oklahoma spreads the ball out, it’s hard to imagine Stogner not producing in 2019.
