Many did not expect Blades to land anywhere other than Miami, although his offers ranged from top schools across the country. Through the speculation Blades did not allow those outside of the program to know when he would commit to Miami. He saved his commitment date for Father’s Day to honor the legacy of his late father.

The younger Blades will play in the Under Armour All-American game in early January, he is set to enroll at Miami during the summer. Recruiting websites view Blades as a top ten player at his position, and a top 60 player in the nation.
