Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators coaching staff might have signed their next star running back. Four-star running back and Florida commit Dameon Pierce has signed his NLI to the University of Florida. This is a big signing for the Gators as Pierce was one of the top commits who committed to Florida last summer. Running back coach Ja’Juan Seider is very excited to add more depth to an already loaded backfield. The Gators return their top two rusher is Lamical Perine and Malik Davis. Pierce is one of two running backs signing with the Gators as four-star RB Iverson Clement will also sign with Florida.
Who is Dameon Pierce?
Dameon Pierce is a four-star RB out of Bainbridge High School in Bainbridge, Georgia. The Florida RB commit is one of the top ten running backs in the country. He was originally committed to Alabama but de-committed from the Tide. Pierce surprised most experts when he committed to Florida since most though he was on his way to Auburn.
According to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Pierce is the 199th ranked recruit and the ten ranked running back in the country. According to ESPN, Pierce is the 103rd ranked recruit and the seventh ranked running back in the country. Pierce had a great senior season at Bainbridge as he had 227 carries for 2,123 yards and 32 rushing touchdowns. The Gators have added an elite back who can really add solid depth in the Gators backfield.
