A Packed List of 2027 Ole Miss Recruiting Targets

2027 Ole Miss Recruiting Gearing Up for Important Run

We’ve entered the Summer months, which means football is rapidly approaching for the 2026 season. But as we all know, recruiting never stops. This means that recruiting is already in full swing for next year. And for the potential 2027 Ole Miss recruiting class, there’s an extremely important stretch upcoming. Over the next few weeks, numerous highly touted recruits are set to make their announcements, and the Rebels are in the mix for all of them.
While Ole Miss has set itself up well already with their 2027 class, hitting on a few of these guys would boost next year’s class tremendously.
So who are these recruits, and what would it mean for Pete Golding and company to land a few of them and get them to Oxford?

A Packed List of 2027 Ole Miss Recruiting Targets

Frederrick Ford

For most people, this seems like a long shot for Golding and his staff. Frederrick Ford is a four-star linebacker out of Greenwood, Mississippi. At 6’3 and nearly 200 pounds, he will need to put on weight wherever he ends up, but he possesses solid speed, and his long arms allow him to play well in coverage as well.
Currently listed as the No. 6 player in the state, he has narrowed his finalists to Ole Miss, Mississippi State, LSU, Tennessee, and Michigan. While it may not necessarily be likely, he would be a huge pickup for Golding’s defense in 2027.
Ford is currently expected to make his announcement on June 25.

Caden Moss

A big name to look out for is offensive lineman Caden Moss. Coming out of Jackson Academy in Jackson, Mississippi, Moss is listed at 6’5 and 320 pounds. He already has the size and power to be a player at the next level, but he needs to work on his footwork and on keeping his hands inside as he prepares for his college career.
Currently listed as the number-two player in the state and the eighth-best offensive tackle in the country, he has recently narrowed his finalists to six schools. Those are Kentucky, Ohio State, LSU, Ole Miss, Oregon, and Tennessee. It is also worth noting that he is coming off a visit to Oxford this past weekend that reportedly went well.
Moss is expected to make his announcement on June 26. If Golding and his staff can keep him in-state, it would be a big pickup for a unit that has sometimes struggled in the past but has certainly appeared to improve over the past few seasons.

Alvin Mosley

Four-star wide receiver Alvin Mosley is another piece that Golding and his staff have made a heavy push for. He’s also the first player on this list not from Mississippi. The 6’2, 185-pounder comes from Rosharon, Texas, and is listed as a top-20 player in the state.
While he doesn’t necessarily have elite speed at the position, he does run hard and plays bigger than one might expect when they watch him. For Ole Miss fans, he bears a real resemblance to former Rebel Tre Harris in his style of play.
Also of note is that he reportedly has a variety of Division 1 offers as a basketball player. This basketball background has given him the ability to be a real threat on contested throws and 50/50 balls. If he can learn to create more space and become a better route-runner, he’s going to have the chance to be a difference maker at the next level.
With an announcement expected on June 27, he is down to Arkansas, Houston, Ole Miss, and Texas.

Tae Walden Jr.

Four-star cornerback Tae Walden Jr is another name that the Rebels have made a strong push for down the stretch. The 6’2, 165-pound defensive back calls Collierville, Tennessee, home and is ranked as the third-best player in the state, according to 247Sports. There are some split opinions about whether he is a future cornerback or wide receiver at the next level, as he has elite ball skills at both positions. Another positive with Walden is the fact that he possesses elite speed on the outside. If there is one concern, it is the fact that he’s not the strongest guy around and is likely going to need to put on some weight as he develops further.
Given this ability to play both sides of the ball at times, there’s no real surprise that he is a highly coveted piece of the 2027 class. With a decision expected on July 1, reports are that he is officially down to Oregon, Georgia, Auburn, Ole Miss, and LSU.

Adryan Cole

One of the last pieces of the puzzle, at least over the next few weeks, is four-star safety Adryan Cole. While it currently looks like he’s leaning towards Georgia, the 6’2, 190-pound defensive back did visit Oxford for an official visit on June 19.
While he won’t blow you away with his speed, he shows good instincts for finding the ball and is a physical player in the back end of the secondary. As he continues to gain weight, he will likely continue to develop into a big hitter at the next level.
With a decision expected to come in mid-July, he appears to be down to Georgia, Florida, LSU, and Ole Miss as finalists. While most believe he stays in-state to play for Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs, if Golding could manage to get him to Oxford, it would be a huge pickup for the Rebel secondary next season.

Expectations for the 2027 Ole Miss Recruiting Class

As mentioned earlier, the 2027 Ole Miss recruiting class is already taking pretty good shape as we start the summer. And this week, they added another big piece in Mitchell Turner, the number one-rated player in the state of Mississippi.
With the guys already committed, if they can land at least two of the names from this list, it’s going to be a class that Golding and his staff are proud of. And that’s before they do work in the transfer portal, which the Rebels have proven to do well with over recent years.
But just how high they can climb in the recruiting rankings will likely come down to the next few weeks. If they land two or more, most Rebel fans will be ecstatic. If they come up short on potentially all of them, it’s hard to imagine there won’t be disappointment floating around the area.
Needless to say, the next few weeks are huge for Ole Miss in 2027.
