Dan Mullen and his Florida Gators coaching staff have signed one of the top defensive commits in their class. JUCO recruit and four-star outside linebacker Diwun Black signed his NLI to play at the University of Florida.
Black is an elite athlete that can play two positions at the next level. Mullen loves Black’s skillset and projects Black to make a huge impact on the Florida defense in the future. This is a huge signing for the Gators.
Diwun Black is the only JUCO recruit that will be signing with the Florida Gators. additionally, Black will also be one of two outside linebackers signing with Florida on Early Signing Day. Notably, Chief Borders will also be signing his NLI to Florida.
Who is Diwun Black?
Diwun Black is a four-star outside linebacker out of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in Perkinston, Mississippi. The Florida commit is one of the top-ranked linebackers in the country. Black was a big get for Florida as Black was previously committed to Florida out of high school. Black honored his commitment while playing at Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Meanwhile, during his recruitment, Black only had one offer during his JUCO recruitment. Out of high school, Black had nine offers from top college programs. Black held offers from schools like Arkansas, Florida, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and USC.
On 247 Sports, Black is the top-ranked JUCO recruit and outside linebacker in the country. Similarly on ESPN, Black is the 18th ranked JUCO recruit and the second-ranked outside linebacker in the country.
The Gators have added one of their top commits from their class and is somebody that could make an immediate impact for the Gators. Black will have three years of eligibility for the Gators and will also enroll early in January.
