Three-star TE Nick Elksnis signs with Florida

Dan Mullen and his coaching staff have signed one of the most underrated offensive commits. The three-star tight end and Florida commit Nick Elksnis has signed his NLI to play at the University of Florida.

This is a key signing for Florida as Elksnis is one of the top tight ends in the 2021 class.  Mullen likes the frame of Elksnis and projects to make a big impact on the Gators offense in the future.

Elksnis is one of two tight ends that’ll sign with Florida. Additionally, Four-star tight end Nick Elksnis will also be signing with the Gators today.

Who is Nick Elksnis?

Nick Elksnis is a three-star tight end out of Jacksonville Episcopal High School in Jacksonville, Florida. The Florida commit is one of the top ranked tight ends in the country. Elksnis was a great get for the Gators as he was previously committed to Penn State.

Meanwhile, during his recruitment, Elksnis received 18 offers from some of the top college programs in the country. Elksnis had offers from schools like Florida, Florida State, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio State, Penn State, and Tennessee.

On ESPN, Elksnis is the 285th ranked recruit and the third ranked tight end-Y in the country. Furthermore, on the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Elksnis is the 382nd ranked recruit and the fourteenth ranked tight end in the country.

The Gators have added a tight end with a 6’6” frame and weighs 220 pounds. Elksnis has the size and potential to be one of the top tight ends in the SEC. Elksnis will also be enrolling early which gives him the opportunity to learn the Gators playbook quickly and compete for playing time. Florida won’t have Kyle Pitts in 2021 but Kemore Gamble and Keon Zipperer have five combined touchdowns this season.
