Rivals250 CB Jordan Young signs with Florida

Dan Mullen and his Florida Gators coaching staff have signed one of the top defensive commits in their class. Rivals250 cornerback and Florida commit Jordan Young has signed his NLI to the University of Florida.

This is a big signing for Florida as Young is a very talented and physical corner that fits Florida’s defense.  Mullen likes Young’s skillset and projects to make a nice impact on the Florida Gators defense in the future.

Young is one of two cornerbacks that will be signing with the Florida Gators on Early Signing Day. Meanwhile, Five-star cornerback Jason Marshall is also expected to sign with the Gators on Wednesday.

Who is Jordan Young?

Jordan Young is a four-star cornerback out of Gaither High School in Tampa, Florida. The Florida commit is one of the top-ranked cornerbacks in the country. Young was a tough get for the Gators as most of Florida’s rivals were recruiting him.

Notably, during his recruitment, Young received 26 offers from some of the top college football programs in the country. Young had offers from schools like Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia.

On Rivals, Young is the 178th ranked recruit and the seventieth ranked cornerback in the country. On the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Young is the 432nd ranked recruit and the 32nd ranked cornerback in the country.

The Gators have added a top instate cornerback that every Florida school wanted in their recruiting class. At 6’1” 180 pounds, Young has good size and will definitely be more physical once he fills in his frame. Young will enroll early at Florida.  As a result, he will get a chance to compete for playing time in the spring.
