All-American Don Chaney Jr. Signs With Miami

The Hurricanes scored a big win over major programs by keeping top running back recruit Don Chaney home. His recruiting started very early as he received his first football offer in the eighth grade. The Hurricanes made Chaney a priority even while going through a coaching transition. After committing to Miami in his junior season, Chaney became a vocal leader in the Hurricanes recruiting class.

The Army All-American will soon play his final high school game in Texas before enrolling early to join the Hurricanes. In addition to being a football phenom, Chaney also has won multiple state titles in track as a high jumper. The Belen Jesuit product is rated by 247 Sports as the fifth highest running back in the nation. Chaney had a strong showing this summer after being invited to the Opening Finals, where he stood out as a top performer.

Whether starting running back DeeJay Dallas stays or declares for the NFL Draft, Chaney should push for playing time as a true freshman. Physically he carries the frame of a future NFL back and the Hurricanes will depend on him to become that.

About Hebreu Maxis

My name is pronounced just like the book in the Bible (Hebrew) but someone at the hospital decided to replace the W, with a U. I am 23 years old at the moment, I am also a recent graduate of Carson-Newman University in Jefferson City, TN. I am a South Florida native, more specifically Pompano Beach, Florida. I remember watching Sean Taylor's highlights on the news in 2003 and it was a wrap after that, my obsession with the game began. I'm always looking to connect with others who share a love for the sport so feel free to reach out.
