Florida Gators vs. Missouri Tigers Preview

The Florida Gators are back on the road to play their final SEC game. The Florida Gators will take on the Missouri Tigers in Memorial Stadium. Missouri has had Florida’s number since arriving to the SEC. The Tigers are coming off a 27-0 shutout loss against the Georgia Bulldogs. The Florida Gators come into this game after blowing out the Vanderbilt Commodores 56-0 in the Swamp. Florida only has two more games on their schedule and will have a tough task against Kelly Bryant and the Missouri Tigers. Here is the Florida Gators versus Missouri Tigers game preview.

Missouri Tigers

The Missouri Tigers will host the Florida Gators as they’re led by their head coach, Barry Odom, who’s in his fourth season as Missouri’s head coach. The Missouri offense will also be led by their grad transfer quarterback Kelly Bryant. The former Clemson quarterback will get the start after missing the Georgia game due to injury. Bryant has had a nice season as he’s completed 62.2% of his passes for 1,845 yards, 14 touchdowns and five interceptions. Bryant also has 205 rushing yards and a touchdown. Junior running back Larry Roundtree III is lead back for the Tigers with 668 rushing yards in 139 carries for eight touchdown. Tight end Albert Okwuegbunam is the star pass catcher for Mizzou with 22 receptions for 280 yards and six touchdowns. Jonathan Nance also has 23 catches for 352 yards and three touchdowns.

On defense, the Missouri Tigers have been pretty solid for the most part. Sophomore Nick Bolton leads the Tigers in tackles with 82. Bolton also has 7.5 tackles for loss, a sack, four pass breakups and two interceptions. Defensive tackle Kobie Whiteside leads Missouri’s defense in sacks with four on the season. He also has 17 tackles, four tackles for loss and one QB hurry. Senior linebacker Cole Garett has also had a big season for the Missouri Tigers. Garrett leads the team in interceptions with three and also has 43 tackles, five tackles for loss, two sacks and a fumble recovery.

Florida Gators

The Florida Gators will look to close their conference schedule on a high note. Redshirt-junior quarterback Kyle Trask has done a terrific job filling in for the injured Feleipe Franks. Trask has completed 66.9% of his passes for 2,011 yards with nineteen touchdowns and six interceptions. Trask also has three rushing touchdowns on the season. Senior running back Lamical Perine is the Florida Gators lead back with 504 yards on 111 carries and four touchdowns. Sophomore tight end Kyle Pitts is the lead receiver for the Florida Gators. Pitts has 42 receptions for 528 yards and five touchdowns. Senior Freddie Swain has 29 catches for 430 yards and five touchdowns. Senior wide receiver Van Jefferson is also having a nice season with 32 catches for 398 yards and four touchdowns.

The Florida Gators defense is coming off a terrific game in which they shutout Vanderbilt’s offense. In that game, Florida recorded six sacks and forced three turnovers including a fumble recovery for a touchdown. Senior linebacker David Reese leads the Gators in tackles with 78 on the season. He also has 4.5 tackles for loss, two sacks and a fumble recovery. Jon Greenard has been a huge addition to the Gators defense as he has 40 tackles, seven tackles for loss and four sacks. Florida is hoping for defensive end Jabari Zuniga and linebacker Amari Burney to play as they missed the Vanderbilt due to injuries.
