Florida Gators 2019 Mock Recruiting Class 3.0

Florida Gators 2019 Mock Recruiting Class 3.0

The Dan Mullen era at the University of Florida is off to a great start as the Gators finished 10-3 on the season. The Florida Gators went into Atlanta, Georgia and blew out the Michigan Wolverines 41-15 in the Peach Bowl. As a result, Florida’s recruiting class has been the beneficiary. Mullen’s first full class is ranked 11th according to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings. With most of the 2019 class filled up, Mullen has already started to recruit the 2020 class. Mullen still has some needs in the 2019 class and would to finish inside the top 10 in the recruiting rankings. Here is the Florida Gators 2019 mock recruiting class 3.0.

Quarterback: Jalon Jones

Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators got their quarterback commit last summer in four-star QB Jalon Jones. The former Mississippi State commit de-committed from the Bulldogs once Mullen was hired at Florida and committed to the Gators last summer. Jones has already signed with the Gators and enrolled early. He will likely redshirt in his first year of campus learning the playbook and improving his strength and mechanics.

Running back: Nay’Quan Wright

The Florida Gators running back room is loaded with very talented upperclassmen and underclassmen. Florida is expected to lose at least one running back after the season and will need to add another top back. Four-star running back Nay’Quan Wright would be the man for the Florida Gators. The Carol City running back had a great senior season and committed to the Gators after the FSU win. Wright has also already signed with the Gators but won’t enroll until the summer.

Wide Receiver: Dionte Marks, Ja’markis Weston & Arjei Henderson

The Gators have had some nice production from their wide receivers like Van Jefferson, Freddie Swain and others. They are also expected to add a few more receivers for next season. Ja’markis Weston has been committed to the Gators since McElwain was at Florida. Dionte Marks has been one of Florida’s most solid commits and will likely sign with the Gators soon. Marks has had a terrific senior season and is considered by many as the most underrated recruit in Florida’s class. Both Marks and Weston have signed with Florida and will enroll in the summer. Florida also picked up a huge commit from four-star wide receiver Arjei Henderson. The Texas receiver surprised a lot of people when he committed to Florida over Florida State. Henderson visited Florida in early January and shutdown his recruitment.

Tight End: Keon Zipperer

The Florida Gators added some talented tight ends in the 2018 recruiting class and landed one of the top 2019 tight ends in the country. Under Amour All-American tight end Keon Zipperer committed and signed with the Florida during the National Early Signing Period. Zipperer signed with the Gators alongside two of his high school teammates, who also signed with Florida. Zipperer will be the only tight end in the 2019 recruiting class.

Offensive Line: Wardrick Wilson, Ethan White, Riley Simonds, William Harrod, Kingsley Eguakun Deyavie Hammond and Michael Tarquin

Florida’s offensive line has been a pleasant surprise for the Gators but did lose four starters. Luckily, Florida has seven offensive lineman commits in Deyavie Hammond, Ethan White, Michael Tarquin, Riley Simonds, Wardrick Wilson, Kingsley Eguakun and William Harrod. The Gators landed four four-star offensive tackles and three three-star offensive guards. Michael Tarquin, Ethan White, Kingsley Eguakun and William Harrod have all enrolled early. Florida is not taking in anymore offensive lineman in the 2019 recruiting class.

Defensive Tackle: Jaelin Humphries

One of the top commits for the Florida Gators is Jaelin Humphries. The four-star defensive tackle committed to the Gators last summer. Humphries picked the Florida Gators over the Georgia Bulldogs and the Alabama Crimson Tide. Humphries signed with the Florida Gators and will enroll in the summer.

Defensive Ends: Lloyd Summerall and Charles Moore

Another Lakeland recruit that the Florida Gators are very high on is Lloyd Summerall. The four-star defensive end committed and signed with the Florida Gators during the National Early Signing Period. Florida would like to add at least one more defensive end in the class. Under Armour All-American Charles Moore could be the guy for the Florida Gators. Moore was committed to Mullen at Mississippi State but Moore backed off his pledge in early January. Florida recently hired a new defensive line coach in David Turner as Moore is familiar with him during his time at Mississippi State. Another defensive lineman to keep an eye on is Khris Bogle. He’s an Adidas All-American and Alabama commit who is coming off an official visit to Florida.

Linebackers: Diwun Black, Tyron Hooper, Jesiah Pierre, and Mohamoud Diabate

First year linebacker coach Christian Robinson deserves a humongous raise as the Gators might have the best linebacker class in the country. Robinson has locked in three out of his four linebackers commits in Tyron Hopper, Mohamoud Diabate and Jesiah Pierre. The only Florida commit that hasn’t signed yet is four-star linebacker Diwun Black. The former Ole Miss commit has been Florida’s most solid commit and will sign with the Gators on National Signing Day. Jesiah Pierre and Mohamoud Diabate have all enrolled early at the University of Florida.

Cornerbacks: Jaydon Hill, Chester Kimbrough, Chris Steele, and      Kaiir Elam

The Florida Gators 2019 cornerback class is already in good shape with all three of their commits signed. Jaydon Hill and Chester Kimbrough committed to Florida during the football season. Chris Steele publicly committed to the Florida Gators during the Adidas All-American Game as he had already signed with the Gators but wanted to make his public announcement at the game. The lone cornerback target for the Florida Gators is four-star Kaiir Elam. The Under Armour All-American is down to the Florida Gators and the Georgia Bulldogs. Georgia hired Florida cornerback coach Charlton Warren while Elam was visiting the Bulldogs. Mullen the hired Washington Redskins and former Gators DB coach Torrian Gray. It’s going to be close but Florida does seem to have the edge on Elam.

Safety: Trent Whittemore

The only safety committed to the Florida Gators 2019 recruiting class is Trent Whittemore. The hometown kid has already signed with the Florida Gators and will enroll in the summer. Whittemore might come in as a wide receiver to start his collegiate career and if doesn’t work out, he’ll move back to the secondary.
