Under Armour All-American TE Keon Zipperer signs with Florida

Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators coaching staff have signed one of their top offensive targets. In this case, four-star tight end Keon Zipperer has signed his NLI to the University of Florida. This is a big signing for Florida as they are recruiting against some of the best teams in the country. Mullen likes Zipperer’s skillset as he’s a perfect fit and can really make a huge impact on the Florida Gators offense in the future. Additionally, this is the third tight end that Mullen has signed in his first two recruiting classes at the University of Florida. Zipperer is currently the only tight end signed in the class.

Who is Keon Zipperer?

Keon Zipperer is a four-star tight end out of Lakeland High School in Lakeland, Florida. The newest Florida commit is one of the top tight ends in the country. He was a tough get for the Gators as Florida was in a battle with the Miami Hurricanes for him. Zipperer really took off in recruiting once he got into the recruiting scene. Finally, he signed with Florida over Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Penn State, and Texas.

Now, on the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Zipperer is the 136th ranked recruit and the fourth-ranked tight end in the country. However, on ESPN, Zipperer is the 63rd ranked recruit and the top-ranked tight end in the country. The Gators have added an elite tight end who could really make an impact in the future. Being an early signee, Zipperer is currently locked in with the Florida Gators 2019 recruiting class. Even so, this is a big recruiting win for Mullen as he made Zipperer a priority since he arrived at Florida.
