Miami Adds Speed With Nigel Bethel

The Hurricanes just got much faster after signing Nigel Bethel. Miami has been on the trail for Bethel since last summer. His name popped back up on the radar after decommitting from the Florida Gators days before the Early Signing Day. Miami would visit the Miami Northwestern athlete just two days later and set up an official visit.

Never Enough Speed

In adding Bethel to the roster, Miami receives an uber talented athlete that has speed and versatility. At six feet tall, Bethel will begin his career at defensive back due to there being a void in depth. However it is possible that he could possibly move to receiver in the future. With a strong track background, running a 10.8 100 meter dash and a 4.4 forty yard dash Bethel will help on special team immediately.

The return game of Miami failed to return any kicks or punts for touchdowns last season, that looks to be an area Bethel can attribute to. At Miami Northwestern he was used in various roles on both offense and defense, mainly due to his speed. The Hurricanes coaching staff helps add another defensive back after cornerback Malek Young suffered a career ending injury in the Orange Bowl.

About Hebreu Maxis

My name is pronounced just like the book in the Bible (Hebrew) but someone at the hospital decided to replace the W, with a U. I am 23 years old at the moment, I am also a recent graduate of Carson-Newman University in Jefferson City, TN. I am a South Florida native, more specifically Pompano Beach, Florida. I remember watching Sean Taylor's highlights on the news in 2003 and it was a wrap after that, my obsession with the game began. I'm always looking to connect with others who share a love for the sport so feel free to reach out.
