The 2o25 ATP Halle Open edition is heating up quite nicely as we head into day four with a place in the quarterfinals on offer for those still in contention. As ever, we here at LWOT will be offering our predictions for every match on the slate, including Alexander Zverev vs Lorenzo Sonego, but who will advance in Germany?
ATP Halle Day 4 Predictions
Flavio Cobolli vs Denis Shapovalov
Head-to-head: first meeting
Denis Shapovalov has had an up and down year ever since winning the ATP Dallas Open earlier this year. The Canadian had to battle hard in his first-round winning in a third-set tiebreak to advance at the expense of sixth seed Ugo Humbert. He now faces the young Italian Flavio Cobolli who already has two titles this year. Cobolli just managed to win against Joao Fonseca in a third set tiebreaker. Expect this match to be decided by who manages to get on the front foot first and that at the moment seems to be Cobolli.
Prediction: Cobolli in 3

Tomas Machac vs Fabian Marozsan
Head-to-head: Machac 1-0 Marozsan
Tomas Machac had a successful return to the grass courts with a decent win in the first round here. He faces Fabian Marozsan who also registered a good win in his first round. Machac hits the ball very flat and is more consistent than Marozsan. If Machac’s serve fires like it did in the first round and he should be the one progressing although Marozsan’s combination of power and variety could make it interesting.
Prediction: Machac in 3

Jannik Sinner vs Alexander Bublik
Head-to-head: Sinner 4-1 Bublik
In a rematch of their French Open quarterfinal, Jannik Sinner will be hoping to continue his progress at the ATP Halle Open at the expense of Alexander Bublik. Both players looked good in their respective first round matches but this matchup is a bad one for Bublik. There aren’t many who can knock Sinner out of his stride and although the conditions in Halle will suit Bublik better than those in Paris, that likely won’t be enough. Sinner, despite his defeat in the Roland Garros final, is very settled in his game and should have too much by half for Bublik.
Prediction: Sinner in 2
