The remaining round of 16 matches in ATP Halle Open will be completed on day four. It promises to be an entertaining day of tennis with six matches on the slate and, as ever, we here at LWOT will be offering our predictions for every match, including Jannik Sinner vs Alexander Bublik, but who will book their place in the last eight in Germany?
ATP Halle Day 4 Predictions
Andrey Rublev vs Tomas Martin Etcheverry
Head-to-head: Rublev 1-0 Etcheverry
Andrey Rublev’s inconsistency this season means any momentum he built from a previous win often quickly gets snuffed out. The 2023 Wimbledon quarterfinalist’s best level on grass is superior to the Argentine’s. Tomas Martin Etcheverry has improved away from the clay in the last few years, but still usually plays his best tennis on slower and higher-bouncing courts. Rublev will win this matchup if he plays a solid match. However, nothing is guaranteed with the 27-year-old after his erratic year.
Prediction: Rublev in 2

Felix Auger-Aliassime vs Karen Khachanov
Head-to-head: Khachanov 2-1 Auger-Aliassime
Felix Auger-Aliassime won the pair’s only previous meeting on grass in 2022. The surface undoubtedly represents the Canadian’s best chance of beating Karen Khachanov at an outdoor event. He will try to serve well and rush Khachanov on his groundstrokes, although the 24-year-old’s backhand is vulnerable on grass. Expect this to be a tight battle without many breaks, but Auger-Aliassime is backed to prevail narrowly.

Alexander Zverev vs Lorenzo Sonego
Head-to-head: Zverev 4-0 Sonego
Alexander Zverev defeated Lorenzo Sonego 6-4 7-6 at this stage last year at the ATP Halle Open. The Italian competed well throughout and came close to taking the match into a third set. Although he had a good run to the final in Stuttgart last week, grass is Zverev’s worst surface. Sonego is more likely to cause an upset on it than clay or hard courts, but Zverev remains the favorite. He has only dropped one set in four meetings with Sonego, whose lack of firepower hurts him in this matchup.
Prediction: Zverev in 2
