WTA Bogota Semifinal Predictions Including Camila Osorio vs Julia Riera

We’re down to just four women at the WTA Bogota. Camila Osorio could become the second Colombian to win at least three titles in this tournament, but must fight for a spot in Sunday’s final against the in-form Julia Riera. 16-year-old Julieta Pareja already made history earlier in the week and is looking to break new ground when she competes in her maiden WTA semifinal. Who will reach the final in Bogota?

WTA Bogota Semifinal Predictions

Katarzyna Kawa vs Julieta Pareja

Head-to-head: first meeting

Kawa has defied the odds and continues to weather the storm in Bogota after another marathon match. The Pole is now one win from the final. That looked near impossible when she drew top seed Marie Bouzkova in the quarterfinal, having spent over 10 hours on the court from qualifying. Pareja, whose mother is originally from Bogota, is making a name for herself in Colombia’s capital. She made history earlier during the week when she became the first WTA player born in 2009 to win a main draw match, and she’s been unstoppable since, winning all five of her matches in straight sets.

Kawa’s win over Bouzkova might have cleared Pareja’s path to the final, as this one will be more of a 50/50 matchup. Pareja is the fresher of the two and is playing with so much composure. The young American’s dream run might have one more chapter.

Prediction: Pareja in 3

Camila Osorio vs Julia Riera

Head-to-head: first meeting

Osorio defeated Tatjana Maria for the second year in a row in a battle between two-time champions of the event. The Colombian delivered her most assured performance of the tournament, dropping just four games against the tricky veteran. Riera also produced an equally efficient performance against Lea Boskovic but lost a set for the second time this week. One of the few places that Osorio is hard to overcome is in Bogota. And the crowd is playing their part in cheering her on. If the second seed continues in this rich vein of form, then a place in the final is hers for the taking.

Prediction: Osorio in 2
