ATP Rio Day 4 Predictions Including Francisco Cerundolo vs Luciano Darderi

The 2025 edition of the ATP Rio Open does boast of a lot of talent along with top players. Round of 16 action is set to conclude Day 4 and we will have the quarterfinal line up set afterwards. As ever, we at LWOT preview and predict the four scheduled matches for you.

ATP Rio Day 4 Predictions

Camilo Ugo Carabelli vs Damir Dzumhur

Head-to-head – First Meeting

Damir Dzumhur put up a great performance in his first round win over Dusan Lajovic conceding no breaks of serve. He takes on Camilo Ugo Carabelli who came through qualifying and then knocked out the seventh seed in the first round. Expect a see saw battle but Dzumhur on clay looks to be more settled at this level and should progress ahead.
Prediction: Dzumhur in 3

Jaime Faria vs Jaume Munar

Head-to-head – First Meeting

Jaime Faria is the lucky loser entrant to the draw and if he’s to make the most of the opportunity, he would have to play very well to beat Jaume Munar. The Spaniard loves the clay courts and a slow start in his first round was swiftly converted to a bagel handed to his opponent in the third set. Munar has a great chance to go deep this week and expect an one sided match here.
Prediction: Munar in 2

Tomas Martin Etcheverry vs Alexandre Muller

Head-to-head – First Meeting

This is a very tight match to call. Tomas Martin Etcheverry is a fantastic clay court player but he is yet to win any title in his career while his opponent Alexandre Muller won his first title this year. The Frenchman put up a scintillating performance to oust teen sensation Joao Fonseca and he should be brimming with confidence. Expect Etcheverry to put up a bold fight but Muller is carrying too much form to lose.
Prediction: Muller in 3

Francisco Cerundolo vs Luciano Darderi

Head-to-head – Cerundolo 1-1 Darderi

Luciano Darderi won’t like the draw he’s dealt as he’s to face Francisco Cerundolo, who beat him last week at Buenos Aires. Cerundolo reached the final of that tournament and the Argentine would love to go one step further this week. Darderi won his first match of the year on the main tour but it was due to a walkover. Expect Cerundolo to show his class against Darderi who doesn’t possess the variety or firepower to trouble the fourth seed.
Prediction: Cerundolo in 2
