ATP Hong Kong Final Prediction

Kei Nishikori vs Alexandre Muller

Head-to-Head: First meeting

Kei Nishikori has been battling injuries and health issues for years, but he ended his 2024 campaign with a Challenger title in Helsinki, raising hopes that his best form could return in 2025. While it’s uncertain if his body can handle a full year of top-level competition, his tennis has been excellent again this week. He was clinical against Shapovalov and outlasted two of the most fit players on tour, Khachanov and Norrie, before benefitting from Shang’s retirement in his semifinal match.

On the other hand, Alexandre Muller has had to go the distance in every match this week, showing that he is very talented but can struggle with consistency. Nishikori’s greater skill, talent and freshness seem too much to overcome in this one. Kei is extremely consistent, and unless Muller produces his absolute best tennis –which might not even be enough– it’s hard to see any other outcome than a Nishikori victory, ending a six-year title drought.

Prediction: Nishikori in 2
