Milos Raonic broke the record for the most aces in a best-of-three set match in his win over Cameron Norrie at the Queen’s Club. Raonic hit 47 aces, breaking Ivo Karlovic’s record of 45 aces from 2015 against Tomas Berdych in Halle. 47 aces is almost 12 games (two sets) worth of aces, an insane mark to consider.

It was not just the first serve; Raonic also defended his second serve impressively, winning 68% of the points behind it, compared to Norrie’s 59%. His forehand volley at 9-10 in the third set tiebreak to save a match point was seriously impressive. He smashed it right into the corner.
The Canadian is possibly one of the best servers of all time and definitely one of the best in the last decade. His service motion is effortless and efficient. It’s very interesting to watch someone do something better than anybody else on earth, and this record will be extremely hard to beat. It’s too bad Raonic has struggled so much with injuries throughout his career because he had a little more to his game than some of the other big servers like John Isner and Ivo Karlovic.

Raonic understands he can rely on his serve at this point in his career since he has always had a tremendous serve. His biggest challenge has been injuries, but he has looked good whenever he has played this year and just needs to stay healthy. He is a former Wimbledon finalist, and despite his best years behind him, no one will want to see him in their section of the Wimbledon draw.
