Flavio Cobolli came back from a set down to defeat Félix Auger-Aliassime 6-4 4-6 4-6 4-6 to reach the semifinals of the 2026 French Open.

First Set
Cobolli got the early break in the first game of the opening set, and Auger-Aliassime broke back immediately and never looked back.
The Canadian dictated the pace of the match with a strong serving. He landed 68% of his first serve, which accounted for his 68% points won. The breakthrough came during the 10th game when he got the break and took the opening set 6-4.
Second Set
Cobolli turned things around in the second set with patience and constructive tennis.
Auger-Aliassime got the first break, but the Italian broke back immediately and kept things moving steadily. The Italian got his second break with consistent strong forehands and athleticism. He held a strong service game and won the set 6-4.
Third Set
This set turned out to be a strong service game for both players, and it was all about who would blink first. Cobolli’s consistent movement on clay and strong forehand. He served well under pressure. Auger-Aliassime also served well but wasn’t able to get the break when the opportunity arose. The Italian capitalized when the chance presented itself and got the break. He served well and went on to win the set 6-5.
Fourth Set
Both players started strongly by holding serves well. Auger-Aliassime couldn’t keep up with the service game and Cobolli got the break. The momentum in the final set shifted in favor of Cobolli due to his strong showing and tenacity on the surface. The Italian never looked and held his serve well to see off the Canadian 6-4.
Flavio Cobolli will play his first ever French Open semifinal. He awaits the winner of the quarterfinal between Matteo Berrettini and Matteo Arnaldi.
