ATP Hong Kong Day 4 Predictions
Arthur Fils vs Marc-Andrea Huesler
Head to head – First Meeting
Arthur Fils is fresh from a fantastic tournament to close out his 2023 season at the Next Gen ATP Finals where he reached the finals. He takes on Marc-Andrea Huesler who dominated in qualifying but the Swiss will be well aware that the real challenge has just begun. This should be an exciting matchup but the way the Frenchman dominated the third set in his opening encounter, expect Fils to put up a strong performance.
Prediction: Fils in 2
Sebastian Ofner vs Jan-Lennard Struff
Head to head – First Meeting
Jan-Lennard Struff survived a major scare having to save multiple match points to eventually get the win over Marin Cilic in a third set tiebreaker. One wonders whether Sebastian Ofner who blitzed his way to a 6-1 6-2 win in his opening round. Expect Ofner to be hungry for the win and take out the fifth seed here on a surface that the Austrian is capable of rushing his opponents.
Prediction: Ofner in 3
Roberto Bautista Agut vs Francisco Cerundolo
Head to head – Bautista Agut 1-0 Cerundolo
At the age of 35, Roberto Bautista Agut is still a very fit athlete and a pretty solid base liner. The Spaniard loves to play on the hard courts and his first round win showcased he won’t be easy to beat. He takes on fourth seed and rising Argentine star Francisco Cerundolo who is faster than Bautista Agut but experience may very well play a part here. Expect a very tight battle with the Spaniard just edging this one.
Prediction: Bautista Agut in 3
Liam Broady vs Andrey Rublev
Head to head – First Meeting
Andrey Rublev begins his campaign here as the top seed and the Russian will look to hit the ground running from the get go. He plays Liam Broady who did play well in his first round match and in the qualifiers but there’s a considerable difference in the baseline shot quality between the two. Expect an easy win for Rublev in his opening encounter.
Prediction: Rublev in 2
