ATP Toronto Day 3 Predictions
Milos Raonic vs Taro Daniel
Head-to-head: Raonic 2-0 Daniel
After an epic first round win over Frances Tiafoe, Raonic has, on paper, a very favorable Round 2 draw here and should be able to continue his run. Under normal circumstances, his serve and overall power should easily overwhelm Daniel. However, Raonic has only played five matches in the past two years and injuries are a constant worry for him so he’s far from a lock. Assuming good health, Raonic should be able to prevail with relative ease, but fitness is far from a guarantee when it comes to the giant Canadian.
Prediction: Raonic in 2
Sebastian Korda vs Aleksandar Vukic
Head-to-head: Korda 2-0 Vukic
Korda’s progress has been derailed by injury, but he will most likely climb back up again and get some great results sooner or later. Vukic had a great run recently in Atlanta and should be able to continue rising up the rankings himself, but Korda clearly has the bigger upside and should be able to prevail here.
Prediction: Korda in 3

Carlos Alcaraz vs Ben Shelton
Head-to-head: first meeting
Shelton has struggled to win matches all year after his great run in Australia and he could hardly have picked a worst opponent to face here. Carlos Alcaraz has established himself as the world’s best player and is a very clear favorite not only to win this match but the whole tournament. He struggled in the pre-US Open Masters 1000 events last year, but he’s improved significantly this year and should make easy work of this match.
Prediction: Alcaraz in 2
