ATP Montpellier Quarterfinals Predictions
Arthur Fils vs Quentin Halys
Head to head – First Meeting
18-year-old Arthur Fils has looked mighty impressive this week in Montpellier and he looks like he can go further from here. He now takes on fellow countryman Quentin Halys ,who has been on the tour for some time but has struggled to pave his way to the top of men’s tennis. Expect an enthralling encounter between these two Frenchmen with Fils continuing his journey to a maiden ATP semifinal spot.
Prediction: Fils in 3
Borna Coric vs Maxime Cressy
Head to head – First Meeting
Maxime Cressy is going to be a handful for any player on the fast indoor surface at Montpellier. The American’s serve and volley game is highly effective here and his next round opponent Borna Coric will have to play at his best to have a chance. These two players have never met before which makes this match all the more exciting seeing the fast game of Cressy and the counter punching of the Croat. Expect a very tight encounter with the American just clinching it.
Prediction: Cressy in 3
Holger Rune vs Gregoire Barrere
Head to head – First Meeting
Rune finally solved his Huesler duck, beating the Swiss in straight sets. The young Dane looks in strong form and is building off an impressive end to 2022 right now. Barrere looks to be playing very well himself, but he’s a step behind Rune at the moment.
Prediction: Rune in 2
Jannik Sinner vs Lorenzo Sonego
Head to head – First Meeting
Jannik Sinner did look like a player on the rise at the 2023 Australian Open as he just fell short in the fourth round against Stefanos Tsitsipas. The Italian takes on fellow Italian Lorenzo Sonego who has looked sharp this week and it’s going to be interesting to watch whether he sticks to his aggressive game-style against the heavy barrage of Jannik Sinner. Expect Sonego to put up a fight but Sinner is fresh and much more consistent.
Prediction: Sinner in 2
