Day 6 at the ATP Libema Open in Den Bosch will feature the semifinal matches, with the next #1 player in the world rankings, Daniil Medvedev, heading a lineup that also features defending champion Adrian Mannarino, fast-rising Top 10 player Felix Auger-Aliassime, and a home player in Tim Van Rijthoven having a fairy tale week.
ATP Den Bosch Semifinal Predictions
Felix Auger-Aliassime vs Tim Van Rijthoven
Head-to-head: first meeting
The sensational Dutch has been the story of the week. He only lost eight points on serve in today’s quarterfinal and will be full of confidence and backed by the home crowd as he looks to continue his fairytale run. However, as impressive as his wins so far this week have been, Felix Auger-Aliassime presents a whole different kind of challenge: he’ll now be taking on a top 10 player, who’s one of the favorites to win the title at Wimbledon in a couple of weeks If Rijthoven managers to keep up his level, especially on serve, though, he’ll cause a lot of problems to the Canadian and be in with a chance. Felix surely can’t afford to underestimate van Rijthoven, who’ll give absolutely everything in what is the biggest match of his career thus far.
Prediction: Auger-Aliassime in 3
Daniil Medvedev vs Adrian Mannarino
Head-to-head: Mannarino 3-1 Medvedev
This will surely strike most people as a very surprising head to head, even if all of Mannarino’s wins came before Medvedev established himself as a top 10 player. Crucially though, two of those wins have come on grass, at this very tournament in 2016 in straight sets and a five setter at Wimbledon 2018. On this surface, the gap between the two players shrinks significantly and Mannarino has a very real chance to notch his ninth consecutive match win at this tournament. Despite reaching the semifinals, Medvedev has been far from impressive this week and it wouldn’t be a shock at all if he lost here, he’s at best a slight favorite.
Prediction: Mannarino in 3
