ATP Antwerp Final Prediction
Diego Schwartzman vs Jannik Sinner
Head to head – First Meeting
Not a lot separates the two in terms of their ranking and seeding here. Jannik Sinner is the top seed and currently ranked 13th, while Diego Schwartzman is the second seed and ranked 14th. Perhaps this match is much more significant for Sinner, as a win here draws him near Hubert Hurkacz who occupies the final ATP Finals spot. The Italian has had a great year and he’ll certainly be very hard to beat in Turin.
That being said, Schwartzman is a fighter to his very core and he’d be highly motivated to nab a title on his least preferred surface. The Argentine dominated his semifinal opponent and enters this match with no real weakness in his game. Schwartzman will have to be at his defensive best to counter the ultra aggressive Sinner.
Clay courts may reward the Argentine for his stellar defense and consistency, but on fast courts like these it’s generally the aggressive one who comes out on top. Expect a titanic battle with Schwartzman’s baseline consistency yielding him a set, but Sinner’s extra speedy shots and serve should enable him to get the trophy.
Prediction: Sinner in 3
