The 23-year-old Ruse is yet to drop a set this week and will be looking to reach her second consecutive final after winning her maiden WTA title in Hamburg last week. Though Dodin is the seeded player here in this match up, the favourite is surely Ruse given her form at the moment. After all, the Romanian has beaten a number of star names in recent weeks. This may well be a close match, but with Ruse so full of confidence at the moment… well she looks almost unstoppable.

Danielle Collins vs Zhang Shuai
Head-to-head: Collins 1-0 Zhang
Danielle Collins, the top seed at the WTA Palermo Open this week, will be vying to reach her first WTA final. The American has a huge chance against the fourth seed Shuai Zhang. The 32-year-old Chinese player edged through Olga Danilovic in a third-set tiebreak and will need to play even better against Collins who is yet to drop a set all week. Collins will be looking to use her inside-out forehand and kick serve to blow Zhang off the court- if she can utilise that, she should come through.
