Benoit Paire Hits Sensational Drop Shot In First Round Win

Benoit Paire Lyon Open

Benoit Paire has looked a man reborn in the past week, and he’s been executing some fantastic shots in the process. During his first round match at the Swiss Open, the Frenchman was at his exquisite best. One shot of his stood out in particular, and it’s been doing the rounds across social media.

Benoit Paire Hits Stunning Drop Shot

After having hit some fantastic shots already, Paire pulled off one of the most sublime drop shots the tour has seen for some time. A nonchalant serve-and-volley point saw the French magician pull off a crazy drop shout which spun back onto his side of the net. This takes tremendous skill, and it’s been very well received by tennis fans.

Paire is no stranger to these breath-taking hot shots, but it’s been a while since we’ve seen this from him. After fighting hard at the German Open last week, he’s clearly taken his renewed energy for the sport into this tournament.

While Paire has been a tricky customer on tour this year and has had much deserved criticism, it’s great to see him enjoying playing again and producing moments like this. Don’t miss his matches, because moments like this are always possible.

The world #49 came through his opening match in straight sets, 6-3 7-6(2), with a very solid and enjoyable performance. With this much higher level of motivation and concentration, hopefully Paire can get his year back on track and continue to show us what makes him such a talent on tour.
