ATP Eastbourne Final Prediction: Taylor Fritz vs Sam Querrey

Sam Querrey Queen's

It will be an all-American men’s final at the Eastbourne International Saturday, as Taylor Fritz and Sam Querrey will play each other for the trophy. Fritz will be seeking his first ever professional singles title. Querrey will be looking to win his 11th, his second on the grass. It will be an interesting final as these two hard-hitters, who know each other so well, will battle it out at Eastbourne – the final tournament before Wimbledon. Querrey has a tough opening draw at Wimbledon, so he can use all the momentum he can get.

ATP Eastbourne Final Prediction: Taylor Fritz vs Sam Querrey

Head-to-head: tied 2-2

Fritz was very fortunate to have come through the semifinal against Kyle Edmund. The Brit looked in firm control of the first set and had five set points. However, he could not capitalize on any of the opportunities given to him. Instead, the young American took the opening set in a tight tiebreak then took control of the match in the second set. Querrey, meanwhile, gave away a second-set tiebreak against Thomas Fabbiano, but won the first and third sets without too much trouble.

Querrey will be looking to take control of the match by using his serve and forehand to attack Fritz’s backhand, which is his weak side. Also, Fritz’s level can drop at times, and Querrey will need to use these chances to dictate the match. On the other hand, Querrey’s second serve can be a bit shaky on big points. And Fritz will need to use those opportunities given to him to take control of the match.

Even though their head-to-head is tied 2-2, none of those four matches were played on grass. Querrey, being a former Wimbledon semifinalist, will relish at the opportunity to play a final on his favorite surface and should claim his 11th career singles title.

Prediction: Querrey in 2
