Lower-tier and middle-tier players on the ATP Tour are the ones who play this week, especially clay enthusiasts who either don’t like grass or didn’t make deep runs at Wimbledon. Those players who didn’t play a ton of matches in the grass season come to post-Wimbledon clay to gain points, prize money, and maybe even a trophy. Because the top layers of the tour regularly skip these events, the second and third rungs of players know this is a real opportunity to claim a tour title and create a highlight in their tennis season. The ATP Bastad Tuesday schedule continues with Nuno Borges playing Moise Kouame. Borges gave Jannik Sinner a battle at Wimbledon. He served for the second set but got broken and eventually lost in straight sets, but the first two sets of that match were played on very even terms. Borges played nine grass matches over the past month, while Kouame stayed away from grass. Borges is ranked No. 52 on the ATP Tour, while Kouame is No. 211. As you would expect with these two players’ profiles, Borges is the massive betting favorite at the sportsbooks.

One weird part of Moise Kouame’s 2026 match profile is that he has played 22 indoor matches. He is 17-5, but that’s a ton of indoor tennis. You won’t generally see a lot of players who have that many indoor matches compared to 13 clay matches and two outdoor hardcourt matches. Borges has played good tennis recently, as his match against Jannik Sinner showed at Wimbledon. He is a much better player than Kouame. He is comfortable on clay. This feels like one of the more clear-cut bets on the board for ATP Bastad on Tuesday.

This ATP Bastad match involves two players who aren’t necessarily clay specialists, but who definitely prefer playing on clay compared to other surfaces. Choinski is 19-12 in 31 clay matches in 2026, whereas Basilashvili is 11-11 in 22 clay matches. Their workloads on clay outstrip the amount of matches they play on other surfaces and in other environments. Choinski made the second round of Wimbledon, while Basilashvili did not get out of the quallies at that tournament.

You can play a set spread for Basilashvili against the Choinski moneyline as a double hedge. Our main bet for this ATP Bastad match goes in a different direction. We have seen Nikoloz Basilashvili play well in these post-Wimbledon clay tournaments before. He’s a huge hitter, but on the faster surfaces, he can’t control his power. On clay, he does a better job of that. He is always erratic, but sometimes he gets hot and becomes difficult to play. You would never want to trust him with a moneyline bet, and since Choinski has the better clay record this year, Choinski moneyline can be a parlay and hedge piece. However, the idea that Basilashvili will play well enough to win one set and push this match to three seems very reasonable. Go in on over 2.5 sets if you want to bet on this one.

The ATP Bastad Tuesday schedule will also feature Daniel Altmaier and Hugo Gaston. Both players are over 25 years old. They are well-established veterans on tour, but not greybeards. They both have similar 2026 match records on clay, with Altmaier being 11-11 in 22 matches and Gaston being 9-10 in 19 matches. If you’re interested in what these guys did in grass season, Altmaier was 4-4, Gaston 3-2. There is not a ton of daylight between these players in terms of overall wins and losses, on or off clay, but Altmaier is ranked 47 spots higher, 60 to 107. That last detail is probably the reason why Altmaier is the betting favorite at the sportsbooks.
