The ATP Bastad tournament features first-round play on Tuesday. Bastad is one of three ATP 250 tournaments being held this week. This week right after Wimbledon is a time when the high-ranked players take a break and prepare for the hardcourts of North America in early August, leading up to the US Open. Lower-tier and middle-tier players on the ATP Tour are the ones who play this week, especially clay enthusiasts who either don’t like grass or didn’t make deep runs at Wimbledon. Those players who didn’t play a ton of matches in the grass season come to post-Wimbledon clay to gain points, prize money, and maybe even a trophy. Because the top layers of the tour regularly skip these events, the second and third rungs of players know this is a real opportunity to claim a tour title and create a highlight in their tennis season. LWOS has our best bets for three matches. Post your best bets and thoughts in the comments.
ATP Bastad
Dalibor Svrcina – Grigor Dimitrov: 6:30 EST
H2H: 0-0
This is a really interesting ATP Bastad match for a few reasons, but the main one is that Grigor Dimitrov is making a very weird scheduling decision here. Why does he need to be playing an ATP 250 on clay just after Wimbledon when he made the Round of 16 at the All-England Club? Dimitrov played a lot of tennis at Wimbledon. He played four matches. He played a long one against Jakub Mensik in the first week. He then played a longer match, a five-setter, against Matteo Berrettini, followed by one more five-setter which he lost to Arthur Fery. Dimitrov basically took a few days off before getting right back on the bike and playing Bastad. He is obviously the better, more talented player than Dalibor Svrcina, but he might not be physically fresh.
Best Bet to Make
Welcome to our best bet section. You’re going to get a collection of bets to consider, also a confidence level which should guide how much you should invest in this match.
Parlay/hedge options: Svrcina plus 1.5 sets at 1.61 at @coral, Dimitrov moneyline at 1.53 at @bet365
Confidence level on a scale of 1-10: 1 – bet one fourth of a unit on this ATP Bastad match if you are going to bet. Dimitrov choosing to play this match invites the possibility that he will play poorly, but purely on talent, he is obviously the better player. There’s a high degree of uncertainty attached to this match, which makes it an unattractive match to bet on.
We have our parlay and hedge bets above, as you can see. We also don’t think you should try to bet on this match. However, if you absolutely have to bet on this match and simply can’t resist finding an angle you love, our best bet would very clearly be Svrcina versus the game spread. We can’t shake the idea that Grigor Dimitrov won’t be fully energized for this match. His body and mind might be taxed after a brutal loss to Arthur Fery at Wimbledon.
That being said, betting on Svrcina +3.5 games is the best bet you can make.
Value bet/ the best odds: Svrcina +3.5 games at 1.75 @unibet
Facundo Diaz Acosta – Lautaro Midon: 6:00 EST
H2H: 1-0
This is a clay specialist duel at Bastad between Facundo Diaz Acosta and Lautaro Midon. Diaz Acosta is 37-11 in 48 clay matches in 2026. Midon is 27-17 in 44 clay matches this year. Neither man has played more than a handful of matches away from clay this season. They are both devoted to playing clay tennis. Diaz Acosta, based on having 10 more wins on clay this season, is ranked roughly 100 spots higher than Midon. Yet, it’s not as though Midon has been average on clay. A 27-17 record in 44 matches is solid. From a betting standpoint, this is not going to be a match in which you fade Midon. He can play on clay.

Best Bet to Make
Parlay/hedge options: Midon +1.5 sets at 1.55 at @betway
Confidence level on a scale of 1-10: 4 – if you are going to bet on this match, don’t bet more than half a unit. Maybe no more than one third of a unit.
The two players know how to play on clay. Midon, as we said, has posted good results on the surface in 2026. However, Diaz Acosta has clearly played a notch or two better. The most logical bet is to bet on Diaz Acosta winning in straight sets, but since Midon is good on clay, having a game spread parlay piece in place offers some insurance. Don’t bet the farm here, but there’s a reasonable angle to take.
That being said, betting on Diaz Acosta winning 2:0 is the best bet you can make
Value bet/ the best odds: Diaz Acosta winning 2:0 @1.80 @betway
Botic Van De Zandschulp – Taro Daniel: 6:30 EST
H2H: 0-0
The ATP Bastad Tuesday card includes a battle of veterans when Botic Van De Zandschulp takes on Taro Daniel. Both players are over 30 years old and have been on the ATP Tour for some time. Van De Zandschulp has been better of late, earning a No. 55 ATP Tour ranking compared to Daniel, who has faded to 194.
All of that having been said, however, Taro Daniel can still play on clay. He hasn’t faced elite competition, but he has played 24 clay matches in 2026 and won 19 of them against just five losses. Van De Zandschulp has played 14 matches against better competition than what Daniel has faced. The Dutchman is 8-6 in those 14 matches.
Best Bet to Make
Welcome to our best bet section. You’re going to get a collection of bets to consider, also a confidence level which should guide how much you should invest in this match.
Parlay/hedge/sprinkle options: Daniel plus 1.5 sets at 1.56 at @unibet, sprinkle over 2.5 sets at 2.30 @betway
Confidence level on a scale of 1-10: 5 – bet three-fourths of a unit on this match if you are going to bet, not a full unit.
The parlay and sprinkle options built in here are meant as a hedge against our main bet. Daniel is good enough on clay to make this a contest and maybe take it to three sets, so you can put a small amount on a Daniel parlay and on the match going three. Balance those small investments against a moderately larger investment on the Van De Zandschulp moneyline. Van De Zandschulp is the better overall player compared to Daniel, and he is competent on clay – not spectacular, but not below-average. Daniel has had a long career, but it’s hard to trust him to win the match outright. He is far from his peak. VDS moneyline is your best choice if you want to let it ride.
That being said, betting on Van De Zandschulp moneyline is the best bet you can make.
