The WTA French Open women’s qualifying action continues. There are 128 spots in the main draw, and a lot of competition for the final places in that draw after the direct qualifiers. Playing in the first round of a major tournament is a given for the stars of tennis, but for the players ranked outside the top 100, it is often a career highlight and a very memorable moment. Let’s see which players rise or fall under the pressure of major tournament qualifying. LWOS has our best bets for three matches. Post your best bets and thoughts in the comments.
WTA French Open qualifying
Bronzetti – Lepchenko: Time 10:00 EST
H2H: 1-0
Lucia Bronzetti played Varvara Lepchenko for the first time in her career earlier this year at ITF Oeiras 3. Bronzetti won the round-of-16 match in straight sets, though the second set was 7-5. Lepchenko is pushing 40 in this match, while Bronzetti is only 27. What stands out most to me is their career record on clay. Bronzetti is 184-145 on clay, but Lepchenko is 222-153. Bronzetti is 4-6 in her last ten, and so is Lepchenko.
Best Bet to Make
It was a bit surprising to discover that Lepchenko was nearly a 4-1 underdog in this match. I truly thought that her ability on clay might be somewhat of a difference-maker, but it’s not like Lepchenko was so much better on clay that it demanded accounting. Bronzetti winning this match 2:0 has a solid return of 2.08, so this is the bet I would take.
That being said, betting on Bronzetti winning 2:0 is a value bet for sure.

Jorge – You: Time 10:00 EST
H2H: 1-0
Francisca Jorge will meet Xiaodi You for the second time in her career. Their first match was at a 2022 ITF-level event. You is coming off an impressive 40-26 year in 2025, and she’s done okay so far this year at 21-11 overall with a title at ITF Luan. Jorge was 41-28 in 2025, including a title. They both play at a similar level and largely in ITF events. There’s a reason this match has the odds it has on the books.

Best Bet to Make
While nearly every other match we’ve covered so far has featured one heavily ranked opponent against some tomato can, this match is 1.83-1.91 on average in favor of Jorge. This doesn’t make much sense to me because You is 72-64 with one ITF tournament title on clay and Jorge is 61-59 with an ITF tournament title on clay. Jorge isn’t even playing well right now. She’s 5-5 in her last ten matches, while You is 8-2 with a tournament final.
That being said, betting on You winning is a value bet for sure.

Sramkova – Cross: Time 10:00 EST
H2H: 0-0
Rebecca Sramkova vs Kayla Cross is the final match on our coverage. Cross is just getting started with her play, as this is only her second year playing professionally. Sramkova has been playing here in France since 2017. It was only in 2022 that she broke past the qualification barrier. Sramkova might want to put her 23-31 2025 season to bed, but she’s 13-14 to start the year.
Best Bet to Make
Sramkova is just 5-5 in her last ten matches, but she is still very much a 4.5-1 favorite on many books. Cross is 6-4 in her last ten, but she’s largely been playing ITF tournaments with WTA events sprinkled here and there. You can mess around with low-return bets on a correct score or total games bet, but I think that would be putting the cart before the horse. Sramkova is just better than Cross, and I expect her to win by at least 5.5 games. This is likely a quick match with a low score.
That being said, betting on Sramkova -5.5 games is a value bet for sure.
