The WTA Hamburg tournament is ready for the quarterfinals on Friday. Four of the top five seeds have made it to the last eight in Germany. No player is ranked inside the WTA top 40. All the players left in the WTA Hamburg field are fighting for an improved ranking position and a better chance to directly qualify for important tournaments on the WTA Tour calendar. You’re not going to see the results of these matches make major headlines, but they’re very important for the players involved, which makes the actual battles more interesting and therefore intriguing from a betting perspective. LWOS has our best bets for four matches. Post your best bets and thoughts in the comments.
WTA Hamburg
Sherif – Badosa: 6:30 EST
H2H: 2-1
This WTA Hamburg match could be the most entertaining one of the group on Friday. Mayar Sherif is 31-11 in 41 clay tennis matches in 2026, while Paula Badosa is a former WTA World No. 2 tennis player who is obviously talented but keeps running into injury problems. Both players, Sherif and Badosa, looked very strong in their most recent Hamburg matches, winning easily in straight sets. They have both gained rhythm this week and will try to carry their form into the weekend with a chance to win a title.
Best Bet to Make
Two players are riding high going into this quarterfinal, but the question in a Paula Badosa match is always the same: Will an injury derail her? The fact that she has looked so smooth and confident in her first two WTA Hamburg matches of the week means she has not had to spend much time on court. When you win quickly, you reduce the risk of an injury. Based on that line of thought, Badosa to win the match seems like the most logical standalone wager to make.
That being said, betting on Badosa winning is a value bet for sure.
Value bet/ the best odds: Badosa winning at 1.68 @Pinnacle
Oliynykova – Avanesyan: 8:00 EST
H2H: 0-0
This WTA Hamburg match is interesting because, while Oleksandra Oliynykova is 18-10 on clay this year, Elina Avanesyan is 26-11 on clay in 2026. Oliynykova is a top-50 player while Avanesyan is ranked outside the top 200, but because of Avanesyan’s strong clay tennis results this year, the betting markets have this priced close to a toss-up, with Oliynykova being only a very slight favorite. The markets clearly respect Avanesyan. Will this quarterfinal duel in Germany bear that out?
Best Bet to Make
The WTA Hamburg quarterfinal lineup does not have dull matchups. This one is very interesting for the reasons mentioned above. Avanesyan might be lower ranked, but she has won a lot on clay this year, and the markets are noticing that. However, Oliynykova cashed a ticket for us with her match victory earlier this week. We’re going to stick with her for another match-win wager. We think the markets are undervaluing her and overrating Avanesyan.
That being said, betting on Oliynykova winning is a value bet for sure.

Bondar – Charaeva: 5:00 EST
H2H: 0-0
The WTA Hamburg Friday schedule includes this match between Anna Bondar and Alina Charaeva. Bondar needed three sets to beat Noma Noha Akugue in her most recent match. She won the first set 6-1 but then struggled through the rest of the match and was able to survive, 7-5 in the third set. Was that extended match good for her or something that will leave her drained for this quarterfinal against Alina Charaeva? Charaeva upset Sinja Kraus earlier this week. Charaeva was a 2.48 underdog but pulled off the win. Will she have another surprise to offer against Bondar?
Best Bet to Make
Bondar is the better player. She might not show it, but there’s more to recommend her than Charaeva. Bondar has shown she can play tough tennis against Elina Svitolina and some other bigger names on the WTA Tour. That should count for something here. The Bondar moneyline price is just slightly below where we draw the line on value bets. You can therefore bet Bondar against a small game spread and get a better price.
That being said, betting on Bondar -2.5 games is a value bet for sure.
Value bet/ the best odds: Bondar -2.5 games @1.77 @1xBet
Korpatsch – Kalinina: 11:00 EST
H2H: 0-0
The WTA Hamburg Friday schedule concludes with this quarterfinal between Tamara Korpatsch and Anhelina Kalinina. This looks like an example of a good player versus a better player on clay. Korpatsch is a solid 19-9 on clay this year, but Kalinina is 32-9, obviously better to a considerable degree. It’s up to Korpatsch to prove she can handle one of the winningest WTA clay players of the season.
Best Bet to Make
The track record of Anhelina Kalinina on clay this year is hard to bet against. Compiling 32 match wins on one surface before the end of July is impressive. Kalinina is ranked 25 spots higher than Korpatsch (56 to 81), so it’s not as though she faces a uniquely tough matchup here. The better player in the rankings, if also enjoying success on a specific surface, should beat a lower player convincingly. Take Kalinina to win a straight-set match.
That being said, betting on Kalinina winning 2:0 is a value bet for sure.
