Friday is semifinal day at ATP Kitzbuhel, and while the top half of the draw features two of the tournament’s seeds, the bottom half will showcase lower-ranked players yet to win an ATP Tour title. ATP Kitzbuhel Semifinal Predictions

Yannick Hanfmann vs Quentin Halys

Head-to-head: first meeting

Quentin Halys took out the talented clay-courter Mariano Navone in the quarterfinals, hitting seven aces and winning the majority of points off his first serve. Yet Yannick Hanfmann’s quarterfinal win was arguably more impressive: a 6-3 6-1 rout over Sebastian Baez, who has won six ATP Tour clay-court titles.

Both players possess big serves and strong weapons, though the German has experienced the slightly more successful season, nearing his career-high ranking of #45. Halys could win this match if he continues to serve well, but the German should like his chances to continue his momentum into a final. Hanfmann was also the 2020 finalist at this event. That familiarity will surely breed confidence and might just prove the difference in what looks like being a close contest.

Alexander Bublik vs Tomas Martin Etcheverry

Head-to-head: Bublik 1-0 Etcheverry

In their only meeting to date, Alexander Bublik beat Tomas Martin Etcheverry when they battled on the hard courts of the 2026 Australian Open. Since then, Bublik’s had a solid season with one title, though perhaps not accomplished quite as much as he would have liked, while Etcheverry clinched his first ATP Tour title in Rio.

The Argentinian thrives on the clay courts, though Bublik hoisted the trophy in Kitzbuhel last year, and has gradually become a player suited for all surfaces. Bublik has more weapons compared to the fifth seed, and if he plays his best tennis, he should have enough to overcome Etcheverry’s consistency in an up-and-down match. These two players, as of Thursday, are notably just two spots away from each other in the ATP Tour Finals race.
