ATP Den Bosch Day 4 Predictions Including Daniil Medvedev vs Thijs Boogaard

The Round of 16 at the 2026 ATP Libema Open in Den Bosch serves up a compelling mix of seasoned professionals and breakout stories as the grass court season properly gets going. With Wimbledon just around the corner, every match carries extra weight. As always, we here at LWOT will be offering our predictions for every match on the schedule. But who will advance?

ATP Den Bosch Day 4 Predictions

Kamil Majchrzak vs James McCabe

Head-to-Head: Majchrzak 1-0 McCabe

Both men come in with solid recent grass results. Majchrzak showed fight by edging out Otto Virtanen in three tight sets here and has looked comfortable on the surface lately, including a strong run at the Birmingham Challenger. He mixes things up well from the baseline and can dictate with his variety.

McCabe, the Australian qualifier, just pulled off a big upset over Zizou Bergs and carries momentum from winning a few matches on grass already this season. His serve can be a weapon, and he seems to enjoy the faster conditions. This should be competitive, but Majchrzak’s extra experience at this level and ability to grind out close sets give him the edge in what could be another close encounter.
Prediction: Majchrzak in 3

Nuno Borges vs Marin Cilic

Head-to-Head: Borges 1-1 Cilic

Borges kicked off the grass season with a straightforward win over Terence Atmane, looking solid from the back of the court and holding serve cleanly. The Portuguese player has been building consistency this year and adapts his baseline game nicely to different surfaces.

Cilic, the veteran, battled past Denis Shapovalov in three sets to start his grass campaign. At 37, he still brings big serving and reach that works well on grass, and his pedigree on the surface is strong from past successes. He had to fight back from deficits in his opener, which shows resilience but also hints at some vulnerability.

This looks evenly matched given their head-to-head and recent efforts. Borges’s steadier recent form and fresher legs could prove decisive in a matchup where both prefer to control from the baseline.
Prediction: Borges in 3

Daniil Medvedev vs Thijs Boogaard

Head-to-Head: First meeting

Medvedev brings elite grass-court know-how as a former finalist here and someone who has posted strong results on the surface over the years. His unique style—using the court geometry and variety—translates particularly well to grass, and he’ll be eager to make a statement after the clay season.

Boogaard, the 17-year-old local wild card, earned his first ATP main-draw win by taking out Yibing Wu in three sets. It’s a dream run for the young Dutchman playing in front of home fans, and the occasion will be special. He has talent and nothing to lose, but this is a huge step up in competition.

Medvedev’s experience, serving, and grass comfort should allow him to control the pace and limit the youngster’s chances. Boogaard will throw everything at it, but the gap in level is significant.
Prediction: Medvedev in 2
