WTA Cincinnati Day 3 Predictions Including Iga Swiatek vs Anastasia Potapova

Day 3 at the WTA 1000 event in Cincinnati will feature the debut of the seeds in the top half of the draw, including two players who have won Grand Slam titles this year in Madison Keys and Iga Swiatek, as well as World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka. It should be a fantastic day of tennis at WTA Cincinnati, full of high-quality and unpredictable matches. But who will advance?

WTA Cincinnati Day 3 Predictions

Madison Keys vs Eva Lys

Head-to-head: first meeting

Keys is having the best season of her career, and it’s clear that winning the US Open is at the forefront of her mind at the moment. A strong run here in Cincinnati would definitely help her gain some much-needed momentum for that, and she is the overwhelming favorite in this opening match. If she plays anywhere close to her best, she should advance without too many hiccups.

Prediction: Keys in 2

Taylor Townsend vs Liudmila Samsonova

Head-to-head: first meeting

Samsonova had a very unlucky draw in Canada, losing to 4 time Slam champion and eventual tournament finalist Naomi Osaka, and she will be looking to have a much stronger run here. Once again, the draw wasn’t exactly kind to her, as Townsend is a far more dangerous opponent than her ranking would suggest, but she should have a slight edge and pull through here.

Prediction: Samsonova in 3

Olga Danilovic vs Emma Raducanu

Head-to-head: first meeting

Radunacu is finally starting to somewhat back up the promise she showed when she won the US Open four years ago; although she hasn’t really been winning tournaments, she has been winning matches consistently and could actually be seeded at the US Open if she has a good run here. Right now, her form looks much better than Danilovic’s, and she should be able to pull through here.

Prediction: Raducanu in 3

Iga Swiatek vs Anastasia Potapova

Head-to-head: Swiatek 1-1 Potapova

Swiatek proved at Wimbledon that she is still arguably the best player in the world and a contender for every single big title. She is most definitely one of the favorites to win the US Open and, of course, this week in Cincinnati as well. Potapova hasn’t been playing particularly well lately, and she is unlikely to put up a serious challenge here.

Prediction: Swiatek in 2
