Jack Draper in action ahead of the ATP Vienna Open.

ATP London Day 3 Predictions Including Jack Draper vs Alexei Popyrin

As is the case every year, the field at the ATP Queen’s Club Championships features several top players and an incredibly stacked draw. It is one of the most prestigious events in the tennis calendar, one that everyone would like to have on their resumé and it always features high quality attacking tennis. Day 3 is sure to be filled with high quality tennis, with Top 10 players such as Holger Rune and Jack Draper in action, as well as this year’s Miami champion, Jakub Mensik.

ATP London Day 3 Predictions

Roberto Bautista-Agut vs Jakub Mensik

Head-to-head: Mensik 1-0 Bautista-Agut

Bautista-Agut was actually one of only two players to take a set off Mensik in Miami this year and on grass he could definitely pose some serious problems. It is a surface that young players tend to take some time to adapt to due to lack of reps (what with such a short grasscourt season every year) and Bautista has a very solid track record on it, being a previous semifinalist at Wimbledon and having won a title on grass. Given how raw Mensik is on this surface, Bautista could well get what would likely be one of the last big wins of his career here.
Prediction: Bautista-Agut in 3

Dan Evans vs Brandon Nakashima

Head-to-head: Nakashima 3-1 Evans

Regardless of his low ranking, Evans is always a potential threat playing at home and on grass. He showed that in the first round here against Tiafoe and now faces another American opponent. Nakashima is quite solid on grass himself and rightfully the favorite here given current ranking and form, but Evans could well score another upset here.

Holger Rune vs Mackenzie McDonald

Head-to-head: Rune 1-1 McDonald

Rune had a very disappointing clay court season after winning the title in Barcelona, but the grass season and especially Wimbledon is a new opportunity for him to finally have a big breakthrough. Rune has already shown that he can play on this surface and, while McDonald had a very good win over Monfils in the opening round, he should have the clear edge in this matchup.

Predictions: Rune in 2

Jack Draper vs Alexei Popyrin

Head-to-head: Draper 1-0 Popyrin

After the obvious names (Alcaraz, Djokovic, Sinner), many see Draper as the biggest dark horse contender for the Wimbledon title–and for good reason. He has made incredible progress in the past nine months, seems to be getting better and better and has proved his ability to play on grass in the past. While Popyrin can be a tough opponent to anyone on a hard court, on grass Draper should have a very clear edge here.
Prediction: Draper in 2
