WTA Stuttgart Open Best Bets Including Aryna Sabalenka vs Anastasia Potapova

The WTA Stuttgart Open Round of 16 is underway, and the card is stacked with quality matches. The feature match is Aryna Sabalenka versus Anastasia Potapova. How do you think I did with my bets? Let me know in the comments below, as ever.

WTA Stuttgart Open Round of 16

Sabalenka – Potapova: Time 10:00

H2H: 1-0

Aryna Sabalenka and Anastasia Potapova meet in Stuttgart for only the second time in their careers. Funny enough, the only other time they met was in the 2023 version of this same tournament, which Sabalenka took in straight sets during the semifinals. Even though Potapova is coming in extremely hot at 7-3 in her last ten, Sabalenka is a blistering 9-1 in the same ten-match span.

Best Bet to Make

The books have Sabalenka as a big favorite, and I agree. Sabalenka is playing as well as anyone in the world right now. If you feel like she’s “due” for a loss, however, you can make a tidy sum by betting on Potapova. The books have her at about 6.53, but you’ll want to make sure you know why you’re placing this bet. Sabalenka isn’t in a stretch of tennis where she’s poised to lose to an underdog this big.

That being said, Potapova winning is a value bet for sure.

Value bet/ the best odds:  Potapova winning @6.53 @Pinnacle

Maria – Seidel: Time 18:30

H2H: 1-0

Tatiana Maria and Ella Seidel are set to play for the first time in their careers at Stuttgart. While Maria enters the match as the higher-ranked competitor at no. 81 compared to Seidel’s no. 124, Seidel is the better clay court player at 80-54 to Maria’s 281-213. Maria is 2-3 in her last five matches, Seidel is 1-4 in the same span of matches. It’s genuinely a battle of two ladies who very much need to turn it around.

The books have Seidel as a slight favorite, and I am genuinely flummoxed for the first time. Both ladies need something to turn their year around, and even the books aren’t overwhelmingly certain with their pick of 1.7 as compared to Maria’s 2.26. You can honestly make money either way, and that’s why I like this match so much. There’s value to be had no matter who you pick.

That being said,  Maria winning is a value bet for sure.

Value bet/ the best odds:  Maria winning @2.26 @Pinnacle; Seidel winning @1.70 @Betway

Navarro –  Ostapenko: Time 10:00

H2H: 0-0

Emma Navarro vs Jelena Ostapenko is likely the most competitive match featured on the card for the Round of 16. Navarro is 7-3 in her last ten matches, and that includes a tournament victory at Mérida. Ostapenko is 6-4 in the same span, and that includes a final loss in Doha to Amanda Anisimova. Both are extremely good clay court players. Navarro is 114-57 and Ostapenko is 106-56 for their careers.

Best Bet to Make

The books have Emma Navarro as the favorite, and I agree. Navarro is playing really well right now and is the more seasoned clay court player. That said, Ostapenko is available for tremendous value at 2.8 on BetVictor. Navarro can still net you some cash, but it’s right on the value line for me at 1.45. Play this one however you want, just be assertive if you are going to take the risk. Might as well cash out big.

That being said, Ostapenko to win is a value bet for sure.
