Alejandro Davidovich Fokina vs Mackenzie McDonald
Head-to-head – Fokina 2-0 McDonald
Mackenzie McDonald doesn’t play much on the main ATP Tour focusing more on challenger events but the American is a decent player on hard courts especially on his home soil. He faces Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, who is not going to be easy to beat. The Spaniard is in good form this year having reached the fourth round at the Australian Open. This match may well be decided by who takes the initiative to wrap up points and at the moment Davidovich Fokina looks more confident to do so.

Brandon Nakashima vs Reilly Opelka
Head-to-head – Nakashima 0-1 Opelka
Brandon Nakashima is not going to have it any easy navigating the draw this week as he faces the highly effective Reilly Opelka. This is an all American battle and they have played each other once with Opelka coming out on top. Opelka is playing well this year and he should have enough firepower in his serve and forehand to unsettle Nakashima. Expect Nakashima to put up a valiant effort but the ease of holding his service games holds Opelka in good stead.

Matteo Arnaldi vs Learner Tien
Head-to-head – First Meeting
Matteo Arnaldi is slowly rising up the ranks and the Italian looks poised for a good week. He takes on recent sensation Learner Tien who after a breakthrough Australian Open has started strong here as well. Expect the American to be very competitive but Arnaldi is pretty solid from the baseline and does possess superior firepower.

Yunchaokete Bu vs Taylor Fritz
Head-to-head – First Meeting
Taylor Fritz would dearly love a long week here in Delray Beach. The American No. 1 hasn’t quite lit up 2025 and maybe this week is the start of a good season. He faces Yunchaokete Bu who does have a decent baseline game but still some levels below the quality of Fritz. Expect Fritz to start strong here.
