Max Purcell and Jordan Thompson have won four of their last five matches. Last week in Paris, Max and Jordan reached the semifinals, where they were upset by Glaspool and Pavlasek in straight sets. Their biggest title of the season came in New York, where they won the US Open, winning against Krawietz and Puetz in the final.

Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten have won three of their last five matches. Last week in Paris, Harri and Henry reached the quarterfinals, where they lost against Purcell and Thompson in three sets. Here in Turin, Heliovaara and Patten won their opening match against Granollers and Zeballos in straight sets. Both of them served well, offering only two breakpoints. They also saved both breakpoints, and were overall great under pressure. So far this season, Heliovaara and Patten have had their biggest results on the fast courts, such as this one. Their biggest title was winning Wimbledon earlier this season, winning against Purcell and Thompson in three tight sets. Patten and Heliovaara won their last title in Stockholm, just over a month ago, winning against Griekspoor and Stevens in the final. This was also their fourth title of the season. New partnerships often take a bit of time getting used to each other. However, Harri and Henry are having a great first season together, and we expect them to be even better next season. They started their journey on the clay court part of the season, where they also had some decent results. In their first tournament together, Heliovaara and Patten won the title in Marrakech and clicked together as a doubles pair.

According to the bookies, Heliovaara and Patten are the slight underdogs in this matchup. Both doubles partners love to play in fast conditions such as this one. We believe that Heliovaara and Patten are yet to show their best tennis. Patten and Heliovaara have a higher ceiling together than Purcell and Thompson, so we expect them to show their best tennis here in Turin, and to make it far this week. We believe that they will be a better doubles pair tomorrow, and that they will win this match.
