Novak Djokovic in action at Wimbledon.

ATP Wimbledon 1/8-Finals

Fritz – Zverev: 08.07.2024 16:00 CEST
H2H: 3-5

Taylor Fritz has won seven straight matches. 10 days ago, Fritz won the title in Eastbourne, winning against Purcell in the final. Here at Wimbledon, Taylor won his first round match against O’Connell in easy straight sets. After that, in the second round, Taylor defeated Rinderknech in four tight sets, which was also his toughest match so far in the tournament. Fritz defeated Tabilo in straight sets yesterday. He had an almost perfect serving performance, not offering any breakpoints. Last year at Wimbledon, Fritz lost in the second round against Ymer in five sets.

Alexander Zverev has won four of his last five matches. Two weeks ago, Zverev played in Halle, where he reached the semifinals. Hurkacz defeated him in straight sets as we predicted. Here at Wimbledon, Sascha defeated Carballes Baena in easy straight sets. After that, Zverev was absolutely dominant against Giron, winning in straight sets as well. In the third round, Norrie made it tough for Alexander as we predicted. However, Alex handled the pressure very well, and won the match in straight sets. Zverev never had any success here in London. He is yet to reach the quarterfinals at Wimbledon. Last year at Wimbledon, Zverev lost in the third round against Matteo Berrettini.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Fritz is the underdog in this matchup. They have met twice on grass, and Alexander has won both of those matches. However, Taylor is a much better grass court player than he was in 2021.

That being said, Fritz covering the games handicap is a value bet.

Rune – Djokovic: 08.07.2024 18:00 CEST
H2H: 2-3

Holger Rune has won four of his last five matches. Here at Wimbledon, Rune won his first round match against Kwon in straight sets. Holger did not offer any breakpoints, and had overall a great serving performance. After that, in the second round, Rune won against Seyboth Wild in four sets. Holger lost the first set, but once he stepped up his game, Rune was completely dominant. In the third round, Rune defeated Halys in five tough sets, after he was 0-2 down as we predicted. Last year at Wimbledon, Rune reached the quarterfinals where he lost against Carlos Alcaraz in straight sets.

Novak Djokovic has won four of his last five matches. Less than a month after knee surgery, Novak won his first round match at Wimbledon, winning against Kopriva in straight sets. After that, Novak had it tough against Fearnley in the second round of the tournament. Djokovic won in four tight sets. In the third round, Novak lost the first set against Popyrin. However, once he stepped up his game, Novak was unstoppable as we predicted. Last year at Wimbledon, Djokovic lost in the final against Carlos Alcaraz in five tough sets.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Novak is the big favorite in this matchup. We are still not sure if he is 100% fit. Holger has played solid tennis so far at Wimbledon. We believe that he will keep this match tight.

That being said, Rune covering the games handicap is a value bet.
