Alex de Minaur in action at Wimbledon.

ATP Wimbledon 1/8-Finals

Musetti – Mpetshi Perricard: 08.07.2024 12:00 CEST
H2H: 1-0

Lorenzo Musetti has won four of his last five matches. Two weeks ago, Musetti reached the final in London where he lost against Tommy Paul in straight sets as we predicted. Here at Wimbledon, Lorenzo defeated Lestienne in the first round. Musetti was one set down, but managed to turn the match around by winning three straight sets. After that, Musetti defeated Darderi in five tough sets. Lorenzo was 1-2 down, but once again stayed calm and turned the match around. In the third round, Musetti defeated Comesana in four sets as we predicted. Last year at Wimbledon, Musetti lost against Hurkacz in the third round.

Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard has won four of his last five matches. Here at Wimbledon, Mpetshi fought through the qualifying tournament. However, he failed to qualify, losing in the final qualifying round against Janvier. Giovanni entered the main-draw as a lucky loser. In the first round, Giovanni upset Korda in five sets, hitting 51 aces. After that, Mpetshi easily defeated Nishoka in the second round. He saved both breakpoints, and had another great serving performance. In the third round, Mpetshi defeated Ruusuvuori in four tight sets. Giovanni lost the first set, but he found his rhythm in the second set, and was unstoppable after that.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, this should be a 50-50 match. We believe that Mpetshi is a better grass court player than Musetti. Lorenzo is more experienced, but Giovanni is looking great here at Wimbledon.

That being said, Mpetshi winning is a value bet.

Fils – de Minaur: 08.07.2024 14:00 CEST
H2H: 1-0

Arthur Fils has won four of his last five matches. Three weeks ago, Fils reached the quarterfinals in Halle, where he lost against Zverev in three sets. Here at Wimbledon, Fils defeated Stricker in his first round match in four tight sets. In the second round match, Hurkacz retired mid-match against Fils due to an injury. After that, in the third round, Fils defeated Safiullin after he was 1-2 down. Arthur was great under pressure. Last year at Wimbledon, Fils lost in the first round against Davidovich Fokina in straight sets.

Alex de Minaur has won four of his last five matches. Three weeks ago in London, de Minaur lost in the first round against Lorenzo Musetti. Just a week before that, Alex lifted the trophy in Hertogenbosch where he won against Sebastian Korda in the final. Here at Wimbledon, de Minaur won against Duckworth in three tiebreaks as we predicted. After that in the second round, de Minaur has won against Munar yet again in three sets. Unfortunately, Pouille retired before his third round match against de Minaur. Alex is yet to lose a set here at Wimbledon. Last year at Wimbledon, de Minaur lost in the second round against Matteo Berrettini.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, de Minaur is the big favorite in this matchup. Alex did not had to play his third round match, so he should be well rested. Fils had two consecutive tough matches, so we believe that he will be tired against Alex.

That being said, de Minaur covering the games handicap is a value bet.

Value bet/ the best odds: Alex de Minaur -5.5 games handicap @1.80 @bet365
