ATP Rome Day 4 Predictions

Roberto Carballes Baena vs Alex de Minaur

Head to Head: First Meeting

Roberto Carballes Baena may not be seeded, but he is coming into Rome with some excellent clay court wins. In Barcelona the Spaniard defeated #10 seed Lorenzo Musetti in the second round, before the #5 seed took him out. At Madrid Carballes Baena took the #17 seed to three sets. Alex de Minaur lost in the second round in Madrid, however that was to Rafael Nadal who got revenge for the defeat in Barcelona. The Australian should be able to progress here.
Prediction: de Minaur in 2

Jaume Munar vs Cameron Norrie

Head to Head: 1-1

Jaume Munar has come into Rome off the back of a Challenger final on clay. The Spaniard defeated Cameron Norrie the last time they met on clay. Back in 2019 in Rio Munar took the Brit to three sets to claim the win. Norrie won the last meeting which was on grass at Wimbledon. The Brit needed the full five sets to get by the Spaniard. This will be a close match again
Prediction: Norrie in 3

Dominik Koepfer vs Frances Tiafoe

Head to Head: 1-0

Domink Koepfer had a straight sets win to get to this stage. The German has been steadily improving as, although losing in the first round in Madrid, Koepfer took the opponent to three sets. Winning the first round match in straight sets will have boosted confidence. Frances Tiafoe made a clay final in Houston, but lost in the first round in Madrid and a Challenger in Cagliari before heading to Rome. Tiafoe needs to rediscover his Houston form in Europe if he is to progress here.
Prediction: Koepfer in 3

Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Jan-Lennard Struff

Head to Head 3-3

Stefanos Tsitsipas made the final in Barcelona but lost in the second round in Madrid. The Greek won the Monte Carlo masters so can be handy on clay. Tsitsipas must regain the form that lifted the title in Monte Carlo and the final in Madrid. Jan-Lennard Struff had a straight sets win in the first round to set up another meeting with Tsitsipas. The German has beaten the Greek in both their clay court meetings, the last being in Madrid last season.
Prediction: Struff in 3
