ATP Madrid Best Bets Including Monfils vs Darderi

ATP Madrid 1/64-Finals

Navone – Popyrin: 24.04.2024 11:00 CEST
H2H: first meeting

Mariano Navone is one of the most consistent clay court players at the moment. Last week, Navone played in the ATP Bucharest final where he lost against Fucsovics in two tough sets. A week before that, Navone played in the semifinals of ATP Marrakech where he lost against Berrettini in three tough sets. In February, Navone also played in the ATP 500 Rio de Janeiro final, where he lost against Baez in straight sets. With those great results, Navone climbed all the way up in the rankings. He is currently the 41st player in the world. He played only one hard-court match this season. Other than that, Navone only played on the clay and had some incredible results.

Alexei Popyrin has lost three of his last five matches. Last week, Popyrin lost in the first round of the ATP Barcelona against Altmaier in straight sets. Before ATP Barcelona, Popyrin reached the 1/8-Finals in Monte Carlo. As we already mentioned, Popyrin loves to play on the fast courts. However, he had one of his biggest results on clay. We are not sure how he will match up with Navone, who loves to play long rallies.

Best Bet to Make

Mariano Navone has been really consistent throughout this season. According to the bookies, Navone is the slight underdog in this match. However, we can not agree with that. We believe that he is currently a way better clay court player than Popyrin.

That being said, Navone winning tomorrow is a value bet.

Darderi – Monfils: 24.04.2024 14:00 CEST
H2H: first meeting

Luciano Darderi has won three of his last five matches. Earlier this month, Darderi reached the semifinals in Houston where he lost against Tiafoe in straight sets. After that, Darderi lost his first round match in Bucharest against Navone in straight sets. He made his biggest success this season, winning the ATP title in Córdoba as a qualifier. That title gave him many ATP points and much needed self-confidence. Darderi is only 22, and we believe that he will have some decent results in this part of the season.

Gael Monfils has lost three of his last five matches. He had some solid results earlier this season in the States where he played on the hard court. However, on the clay court part of the season, Monfils did not do much. We should not forget that he is 37 years old, and when you are that age, playing on such a slow surface gives you trouble. Monfils lost his last match against Medvedev at the ATP Masters 1000 in Monte Carlo in straight sets. Overall this season, Monfils won and lost 2 matches on the clay.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Darderi is a slight underdog in this match. However, we believe that he is currently a better clay court player than Monfils. We all know how Monfils was once a great clay court specialist. However, his footwork is not the same anymore.

That being said, Darderi winning is a value bet.
