ATP Toronto Day 3 Predictions
Alexander Zverev vs Alejandro Dadidovich Fokina
Head-to-head: Zverev 3-0 Dadidovich Fokina
This matchup has been extremely one-sided so far, with Davidovich Fokina unable to even win a set in three matches and getting routined in both of their Slam encounters. Zverev’s serve and power game are clearly too much for the Spaniard to handle under normal circumstances and the German seems to be getting close to his best form, as shown by his run at Roland Garros and title in Hamburg. He should be able to prevail here with relative ease.
Prediction: Zverev in 2
Miomir Kecmanovic vs Hubert Hurkacz
Head-to-head: Kecmanovic 1-0 Hurkacz
Hurkacz has shown a very good level at this tournament in the last two years, losing a dramatic three set tiebreak to eventual champion Daniil Medvedev in 2021 and reaching the final in 2022, losing to Pablo Carreno Busta. He’s clearly very comfortable playing in Canada and should be able to prevail here.
Prediction: Hurkacz in 2

Tommy Paul vs Francisco Cerundolo
Head-to-head: Cerundolo 2-1 Paul
All three of their previous meetings have been on grass, so they don’t have much bearing here as the conditions will be very different. On paper, Paul is the favorite here but the reality is that after great runs in Australia and Acapulco he has struggled this year and there’s very little between him and Cerundolo here, it’s a match that could genuinely go either way.
Prediction: Paul in 3
Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Gael Monfils
Head-to-head: Tsitsipas 2-1 Monfils
This is arguably the most awaited match of the day. Tsitsipas is one of the world’s best players and is just off a title in Los Cabos, while Monfils is one of the greatest entertainers the sport has ever seen and is currently on the comeback trail, looking to climb back up the rankings. He usually plays well in Canada and should cause Tsitsipas some issues but in the end the Greek will probably be too good.
Prediction: Tsitsipas in 3
