WTA Miami Day 4 Predictions Including Caroline Garcia vs Sorana Cirstea

Caroline Garcia ahead of WTA Miami

Day 4 at the WTA 1000 in Miami will feature plenty of exciting action, including some of the top seeds, like Caroline Garcia, making their tournament debut. It will also feature a lot of American players and some former Grand Slam champions like Sofia Kenin.

WTA Miami Day 4 Predictions

Sofia Kenin vs Anhelina Kalinina

Head-to-head: Kenin 1-1 Kalinina

Kenin might be a former Grand Slam champion, but those days are far behind here and seem unlikely to come back. Kalinina is actually the better player currently; while she’s unlikely to contend for any big titles, she’s a consistent top 30-level player and should be able to pull through here.

Ekaterina Alexandrova vs Taylor Townsend

Head-to-head: Alexandrova 1-1 Townsend

Alexandrova won their previous meeting at the Australian Open earlier this year, a very tough three-set affair. This one here should be another tightly contested affair but considering the players’ current level and form Alexandrova should be able to pull through again.

Robin Montgomery vs Madison Keys

Head-to-head: first meeting

Although she’s not having a very good season so far, Keys is a very clear favorite in this all-American matchup; the 2017 US Open finalist will be trying to get back to that sort of level in 2023 and she could use a strong run here to get some momentum going. This first match is in theory a very kind draw and a very good opportunity to kickstart a deep run.

Prediction: Keys in 2

Caroline Garcia vs Sorana Cirstea

Head-to-head: Garcia 2-1 Cirstea

Cirstea won when the pair faced a couple of weeks ago in Indian Wells and Garcia will have a quick chance for revenge here in Miami. Garcia will once again enter as the obvious favorite but Cirstea has already shown that she has what it takes to cause issues or even an upset and will be feeling confident after a quarterfinal run in Indian Wells.

Prediction: Garcia in 3
