ATP Winston-Salem Quarterfinal Predictions Including Maxime Cressy vs Adrian Mannarino

Maxime Cressy in action at the ATP Winston-Salem Open.

The only tournament this week on the ATP Tour before the US Open is coming to an exciting close with the quarterfinals line-up now set. As ever, we at LWOT preview and predict all four quarterfinal clashes at the ATP Winston-Salem Open, but who will book their place in the last four?.

ATP Winston-Salem Quarterfinal Predictions

Laslo Djere vs Richard Gasquet

Head-to-head: Gasquet 1-0 Djere

Richard Gasquet is still a very strong opponent on his day and the veteran’s court craft is a refreshing sight to see on the court. All in all, he’s had a good season so far and he looks in decent touch before the last Grand Slam of the season. Laslo Djere much like Richard Gasquet has fought his way through to the quarterfinals and the Serb’s lackluster season seems to be stabilising this week. Expect a gruelling back and forth match with Gasquet banking on his experience to nab the win.

Prediction: Gasquet in 3

Benjamin Bonzi vs Botic van de Zandschulp

Head-to-head: first meeting

This match should give an indication as to how Benjamin Bonzi will handle pressure come the closing stages of a tournament. The Frenchman has a lot of talent to not win titles and it’s been a waiting game thus far. It’s not going to be easy for Bonzi as he takes on the second seed Botic van de Zandschulp. The Dutchman has played like the second see this week but it’s surprising he is yet to win a tour title. The draw is winnable for the Dutchman and it look unlikely he’s going to let this opportunity pass.

Prediction: van de Zandschulp in 2

Jack Draper vs Marc-Andrea Huesler

Head-to-head: first meeting

Jack Draper has had a decent year in 2022 and the 20 year old put up a statement performance against the 2020 US Open champ in Dominic Thiem. He now takes on Marc-Andrea Huesler who has proved to be a dangerous floater at times in tournaments this year. That being said, Draper looks confident ever since he made it to the quarterfinals in Toronto and while the Swiss will put up a valiant fight, Draper should be the one advancing.

Maxime Cressy vs Adrian Mannarino

Head-to-head: Cressy 1-0 Mannarino

Maxime Cressy is another contender for the title here in Winston-Salem. The 25 year old is a tough opponent to manage for anyone especially if his serve is firing. The American had to fight in his round of 16 matchup but his matches rarely go long and that’s a bonus fatigue wise. Adrian Mannarino is one of the two French veterans in the last eight along with Richard Gasquet. He has taken out quality opponents so far this week but it feels like Cressy is a level above and the American should be able to dominate the match.

Prediction: Cressy in 2
