WTA Prague Day 4 Predictions Including Barbora Krejcikova vs Nao Hibino

Barbora Krejcikova in action ahead of the WTA Budapest Open.

The remainder of the second round matches will be completed on Thursday at the WTA 250 level Livesport Prague Open. The big names come out to play on Day 4, including the top seeded Anett Kontaveit and the second seed and top ranked Czech Barbora Krejcikova. Alize Cornet and Anastasia Potapova are another couple of seeds that will start as strong favourites. Will we see any upsets or will all the seeds cruise into the quarterfinals?

WTA Prague Day 4 Predictions

Alize Cornet vs Linda Noskova

H2H: First meeting.

Alize Cornet is back in action this week after a very successful grass court season, highlighted by a stunning upset win over Iga Swiatek at Wimbledon. The veteran Frenchwoman made a solid start to her campaign in Prague with a 6-2 6-3 win over Anastasia Zakharova. Cornet will be expected to collect another convincing win when she faces 17-year-old wild card Linda Noskova in on Thursday. Cornet’s versatility and experience make her a very tough opponent for players of Noskova’s inexperience.

Anett Kontaveit vs Lucie Havlickova

H2H: First meeting.

Anett Kontaveit wasted little time on court in a 6-0 6-1 opening round demolition of Ekaterine Gorgodze. A similarly one-sided result can be expected in her second round matchup with local wild card Lucie Havlickova. The 17-year-old Havlickova has shown signs that she will soon make a name for herself on the WTA tour, but facing a player of Kontaveit’s level for the first time will probably expose the holes in her immature game.

Anastasia Potapova vs Lin Zhu

H2H: First meeting.

Anastasia Potapova continued her recent strong form with a commanding 6-1 6-2 opening round win over the dangerous Xinyu Wang. The Russian will once again be expected to prevail over a Chinese opponent when she faces Lin Zhu in the second round. Zhu claimed a strong 6-1 6-1 opening round of her own over Vitalia Diatchenko but has generally struggled in recent times. Potapova is the logical choice here based on recent form.

Barbora Krejcikova vs Nao Hibino

H2H: Hibino 1-0.

Barbora Krejcikova started her title defense in Prague with a predictably easy 6-3 6-1 win over Anna Blinkova. 2022 has been a real letdown for Krejcikova, there’s a good opportunity for her to start to salvage something from the season this week in Prague. Nao Hibino is already having a good week in Prague having come through the qualifying draw before comfortably beating Mihaela Buzarnescu 6-2 6-2 in the opening round of the main draw. Nevertheless, Hibino is highly likely to be outclassed in this matchup, she isn’t likely to have consistent weapons to hurt Krejcikova on this occasion.
Prediction: Krejcikova in 2
